I drop by once in a blue moon. I'm not much of a chat / IRC person, but I have been known to drop by occasionally.

"That's strange," a clerk commented. "What is it?" his superior asked. "Nothing big, just a few samples that got routed through our labs by mistake," the clerk answered. "Naturally, the lab techs did a full work up despite it not being in our juris-" The clerk double checked the file he had open in shock. "Fucking-double-A hell, I don't believe it, I've got a live one Joe!" "What?!" the supervisor asked, shocked. "Route him into our facilities then!" "Can't, he's in the judici

The dark creature glanced around, unwilling to be seen so early in the game. It had it's duties to do, and being seen was not one of them. Not yet. Hands that had once been human reached out and slipped open the window, a slight trickle of dark power unlatching the lock and countering the alarms. Slipping through, the creature drifted on light feet to the sleeping man's bed and leaned over. Mouth over the man's ear, it began to whisper dark secrets and evil words, the beginning of a spel

A phone call in the night... anonymous... a warning... danger at home... And things began to fall into place for the Dark... Edward Jason Terrance stared out the window, absorbing the panoramic view of the terrain outside. He hadn't wanted to come, but there hadn't been much choice in the matter. Both of his parents were going on the trip, and they weren't going to leave him alone for the weekend, much less the full week their business could end up taking. At thirteen years of age

Darkness crawled around the DA's office as the phone call continued. Under his chair a small blob bubbled and oozed, raising a stench that could not be smelled. "I'll have to think about it," the DA answered his phone. "The case file doesn't seem to suggest..." The blob boiled faster, growing warm as its power was expended and a mind twisted. "Yes, you're quite right... I should have seen that before..." The blob vanished, every trace of its physical existence expended to open a mind

The boy tossed and turned, moaning, as dreams ran through his mind. Dreams of power, position, wealth. A life of ease and luxury, with his father smiling joyously at his successful son. And at the beginning of his rise to power, a simple thing he'd love to do. And a promise that he'd be protected from the consequences... Jeremy and Billy idled along, chatting lightly as they waited for lunch to start. "So, turd-head," Jer teased as he added a little dancing slide-step on top of the sly

Foreword Hello, and welcome to my "Redemption" Saga. Before you dig on into the story, which I hope you will enjoy immensely, I'd like to say a few things. This is not simply one story, it is in fact three separate stories that tie together, tightly, as they grow towards a single, unified climax. These stories are set in the same universe as my other story, The Guardians, but several years down the line, so the events which will be told in future chapters of The Guardians have already o

Three stories are rolled together into one, over-arching storyline. Follow Jer and Billy as they live their innocent, almost-teenager lives; follow Hector and Eddie, who though they have never met will soon change each other's lives, forever; follow Dillon and Brian as events force them to live seperate lives, still desperately in love with each other. Follow, as all three stories grow closer and closer until they merge into one.

I'm going to have to keep that link, funny!

Fascinating, scary, incredible story. Nice work!

Crack. The rim shot echoed down the ruined streets. Crack. The sound of a drum stick hitting the edge of the drum echoed down the quiet city streets, seeming to gain rather than loose power as it traveled. Crack. The drumbeat wasn't alone, however. It was accompanied by the sound of hundreds of booted feet slamming into the ground in unison. It merely marked the instant that every single left foot hit. Boom. It was a slow, stately march. Every single footfall was h

That morning, Paul had woken up coughing. Smoke still hung in the air from the smoldering building, choking him. Every breath was a struggle, and it was only by pure luck that he was still alive. Several structural members had managed to form a small pocket of space around him, shielding him from the rubble that would otherwise have crushed him to death. Reflexively, his hand darted to check the ax strapped to his side. It was fine. Paul didn't understand any of it. There had been a bl

Lara glanced over at Ashley as the helicopter circled around the center of the city, carefully avoiding any areas the enemy had claimed. Looking down, she gazed into the crystalline pendant she used as a focus for her magic. She wasn't even certain what it was made of, but it's clear, crystalline mysteries helped concentrate and amplify her powers when she used it. And sometimes, just sometimes, staring into it like this gave her flashes of wisdom. There wasn't anything magic about it, it wa

Jason groaned as he tried to roll over. His head was pounding, a giant throbbing that waxed and waned with the beating of his heart. "Ah, you're awake," a half-familiar voice commented. "I was worried." "What happened," Jason croaked. "Here," strong hands helped him sit up, and then held a glass to his lips. "Small sips at first." Jason wanted to gag at the foul taste, but sipped it anyway. The throbbing dimmed almost instantly, and his mouth no longer felt like the middle of

"Pack up, now!" Ronan ordered as he barged into the basement. "Everyone get ready to move!" Jason slowly levered himself to his feet and scrubbed at his face with his hands. "What's up?" he asked tiredly. "Trouble is coming this way, fast," Ronan told him. Jason stretched the kinks out of his shoulders. "I just finished healing the last of the wounded, as best as I can anyway. Everyone is still tired, we need rest." "We'll have to find it elsewhere," Ronan shrugged. "Good ne

"Alright, the driver said they should be here in about five more minutes," Paul said as he closed his cell. "I don't know why Lara insisted they take a scenic route, but-" Mary's laugh cut him off. "You still haven't figured it out?" "Is there something obvious I'm missing?" Paul sighed. Mary giggled. "Oh what a fun time we'll have," she said under her breath. "Yes, and it's not that important at the moment. We should probably-" The sound of thunder cut her off. "Thunder?" she asked, lo

"Hey guys," Jason said softly. He and Ronan were sitting on the couch, with Lara, Paul, and Mary sitting in the other chairs scattered through the living room. "We needed to have a little talk." "A talk?" Lara asked, eyes glancing over to Mary. "Yes, a talk," Jason smiled. "Some things have happened, and we thought we'd share them with you. You see," Jason looked at Paul, "I have a job for you, if you're willing to do it." "Anything," Paul smiled back. "What do you need?" "I

Jason stretched slowly as his brother puttered on the other side of the underground room. "Do you have enough weapons?" Jason laughed. "I'll probably ditch a few of them, I'm just getting a feel for how they hang," Paul laughed back. "You might be surprised by some of them!" "Those wheel things are pretty absurd," Jason pointed out. "I don't think I'll actually use them," Paul said thoughtfully. "They look nice, though, and will definitely make my weapons look more like a collecti

Jason hurt. That's the only way he could process the sheer overwhelming rush of emotion running through him. Anger, grief, shock and disbelief, sorrow, disgust, a dozen emotions he couldn't process ran amok. His own father. His father had done it. His former father. Jason Dustin Koken. The name burned. The name seared itself into his soul. He couldn't believe what his had father done, and he couldn't believe what he'd done in response. He couldn't believe he'd gone as far as he had,

Memories of Eric: Worth A Thousand Words Joshua Penn sat down in the restaurant to another day of business without a thought of where things might go. He'd been working for his boss for four years, with nary a promotion and barely a word of thanks; despite tons of hard work, long hours, and putting up with the sheer stupidity his employer put out. Still, he was finally getting ahead -- he suspected his boss was getting ready to promote him, or why start bringing him to business lunches like

Jason was frustrating them. Aversion therapy didn't work very well when the subject was capable of retreating deep enough into his mind to barely feel the negative stimulus. 'Counseling' sessions did no good when the subject of the counseling was not only quite convinced of his own mind, but capable of arguing every point the counselors brought up and winning. Sleep deprivation barely affected him. And drugs just didn't work on him. All in all, the torturous treatment they wanted to hand

Ronan listened to the screaming for a while, listening for God only knew what. Grunting, he glanced at his watch. Fifteen minutes. Long enough. Standing up, he walked back out into the corridor. Banging on a door, he silenced the screaming before walking on to the door next to it. "Hello," he said grimly as he walked in. "Ready to talk?" "You bastard! The council will have your head!" the man snarled. "I see, so I should call my associate in?" Ronan asked. The man's eyes wide

Jason's eyes shot wide open in shock. No! It was impossible! He'd been so careful! He closed his eyes and bowed his head for a moment in anger. He'd used his own name. His own name! That had to have been it. "No, I'm not," Kyle told his brother. "But the fact that you thought I was certainly explains a lot... brother." "You're dead," Ronan repeated, "you died in the plane crash with Mom and Dad! I buried you!" "Strange, I look awfully lively," Kyle said sarcastically. "W

Jason stretched, slowly moving through his entire range of motion while the seamstress watched. "Do I really need to be so.. so..." "Yes, I know it's embarrassing, but I need to watch how you move," the seamstress sighed. "And I need to see where- hold that position!" Jason froze and waited while the seamstress took another set of measurements. "Alright, continue. I need to be able to see where your muscles tend to bunch up, get a feel for the entire flow of your movement. And I can't s

Despite Ashley's repeated requests, Paul could no more sit down than he could stand still. He paced the living room, constantly glancing out the windows. "Damn it!" he swore. "Paul, I'm not going to tell you again, sit down," Ashley snarled. "You're just making it worse." "Worse?" Paul snapped back. "You feel it just like I do!" "Paul, sit or I'll make you sit," Tommy said tersely. "I know damned well Ronan taught you the basics of meditation; use them!" "Meditate? Meditate
