My Gift To You - 2. A Promise

This is a little something I wrote today. Thanks Bleu

People chattering about everything

And nothing in particular

A cacophony of voices wanting attention

Yours and mine lost in the hubbub

A rigmarole unfolding before my eyes

Is this where I belong?

A heart searching for someone special

And another who yearns for the same

We started out as strangers who had nothing in common

Except for a shared dream of a life filled with love

Two hearts separated by miles upon miles of distance

Fate stepped in to bring us together

And so another tale of love begins anew

How it ends, well, that is for us to determine

The only thing I can promise you is this

I will do my best to make this work

I am willing to go the distance

If you are by my side

Out of all the wonders this world has to offer

I am glad that I was presented with the gift of love

I hope I make good use of this opportunity

Both for my sake and yours

Thanks for reading :)
