My Gift To You - 1. My Gift To You

This might seem a little corny (ok so it's a whole lot corny), but I wrote this yesterday as a gift to the person who recently made my days happier than it was. Thanks, Bleu. I'm glad we've met. MK

You were a friend among many

Kind, honest and supportive

Your words held a friendly note

But I shrugged it off as nothing

I was a naive storyteller

Who pretended I was a writer

My words were a bit awkward

But you liked them anyway

Words bloomed into feelings

Then turned into something more

Yours were known to you

Mine were in my subconscious

On an ordinary day like others

Something extraordinary happened

You reached out in a friendly gesture

I replied by sharing a part of me

Feelings that were hidden deep

Made themselves known to me

I saw you in a different light

Your inner beauty was captivating

Days passed, turning into months

I held a secret in my heart

A crush was borne out of words

Adoration directed toward you

I was not myself one night

Boldness and forwardness

Accompanied my words

Words I said to you

My feelings were confessed

You did not judge me

I was not pushed away

Truth was, you did nothing

My heart was set on running away

I was confused and a little hurt

But then you said you like me too

We were both speechless for a while

A week has gone by since then

Seven days I spent with you

We’re enjoying each other’s company

As we get to know each other more

On this somewhat special night

Let me present you with

The gift which is my words

Awkward though they maybe

I made this poem for you

With your beautiful smile

On my mind all the time

Hope you appreciate the effort...

Thanks for reading guys. Just to clarify, he made me post this.
