Broken Fate - 2. A Father's Lament
A Father’s Lament
By J.A. Oshio
You are my son
What I have lost
You will have won
But be mindful of the Cost
There is much I wish to say
If my eyes could see you now
But there was a price I had to pay
For no one can break their vow
You will grow Strong
And you will grow Wise
But you must write your own song
And beware the thinly veiled disguise
You must have your father’s pride
And your mother’s grace
But know why we died
It is not something to chase
We will always be proud
And will always love you
Even from the shroud
We know you’ll grow true
