I Started Thinking - 3. Life Is The Question

the poem really speaks for its' self.. I hope it makes you think about your own life.

Life

Life is living in your dreams

Being who you are

Never stopping in your believing, that you are who you are

Life

Life is living in your dreams

Watching people around you

But knowing your own self

Life

Life is living in your dreams

Keeping faith in your plan

Always moving forward and never looking back again

If looking back is all you do, what kind of life have you lived

Has your life been a fulfilling one or do you wish it would end

Life

Life is living in your dreams

So after reading this latest poem, how are you feeling about life? While writing  this poem I  know it had me thinking about my own life. Anyway I hope you all enjoyed it..

Great question, Imoline.  A lot of friends and loved ones of mine have experienced loss lately, so I've been doing a lot of thinking about life and existential questions.  I think everyone has aspects of their life they wish they could change or mistakes they'd like to fix. But all of our actions and inaction have led us to where we currently are.  Would I change where I am right now?  No.  Ask me again tomorrow and the answer might differ ;)  I can really see your style emerging with this third selection.  When I read it, I again imagined this set to music.  Your words have a very powerful lyrical quality that's appealing.  Nice job. :)

Too many of us care too much about yesterday. I know I'm guilty of that at times, but the trick is to let go and move on. Learn from your past for sure, but don't let it rule you... it's a lifetime commitment to be on guard. I like your wording... lining in your dreams. I take that to mean, for me, having the life your living be part of your dream... concentrating on the positive things in your life, and that is a powerful message, Imoline. Dreams are just that... dreams... and there is nothing wrong with hopes they come true, but meanwhile, we live. I think this is a wonderful poem... you have really made me think, and I like how these poems connect to each other...  well done once again, my friend... cheers... Gary....

Valkyrie, I am sorry to hear of your recent losses and you search for answers. I hope this poem has helped a little to let you know that, as long as you are living in your dream everything will be okay. I know I too have asked myself the same questions, but answer is not one i could fine on my own. You will get there eventually by being shown by the Big G. He is how I make it through days like today. The poem itself is about making the life you have been given your own and just living to your fullest existence.

As always, Have a sweet day....Lmoline and :thankyou:

oh and p.s. I did have a song stuck in my head when i wrote this one...

Life is living in your dreams.  you make a very powerful claim here, and one could argue it is true. But of course, the spoilsport nerds like me come along and find things that rankle.  No matter. This is a very beautiful poem, and I love it for the truth it exposes in me, and for many, I suspect.  Thank you for writing and for sharing it with us.

Thank you Parker for your honesty and kind words. This poem is pretty tough on some people and easy for others. As you say " spoilsport nerds" can have their own opinion on it. I should know, I am one..:gikkle: however this poem was meant to make people think about, whether they can live their life to the fullest extent of their being. I am glad that you understood that.

As always, Have a sweet day.. Lmoline and :thankyou:
