My Poems, Satires & Other Lyrical Nonsense - 2. Today Is The Day

Just a quick rambling on my deduce of a child soldier; comments are welcome :)

Today is my birthday; though I have no home nor family to celebrate it with.

Today I turn eleven years old, I become a man.

Today, rebels will bomb yet another school.

Yesterday; I held my first gun.

Today is the day; I fired that gun.

Yesterday was the first time I shot at someone.

Today is the first time; I killed someone.

Tomorrow will be the first time I snort brown-brown.

Today I feel invincible.

Yesterday we lost territory.

Today is the day; I got my first battle wound.

Today, I'll most likely die.

Tomorrow; they’ll bury me.
