Limerick's loony bin and other crazy sh% - 6. Day 21 - Day 25

Just in time. Not my week.

Neanderthal*

Two percent of us is you,
Misjudged, underrated
Early painters, storytellers, explorers
we wouldn’t notice you on the bus, today
in any part of the world.
We...

Not*

Is not. Is not.
Am Not. No!
Doubt is a slow poison
that kills for certain
Me.

Doubt rips apart.
Doubt hurts, aches
Trust is the cradle of togetherness
Fertile ground for
Us.

Doubt withers

Everything to dust.

One

The single tear on the brink of falling
after biding such a long time.

The solitary dew drop,
waiting for morning’s light to sparkle.

The breeze strong enough to push
over the mind’s chasm and never look back

I dare you!

Foreign poetry, an experiment in translation

Weit hinter dem heimatlichen Horizont,
bekannten Wörtern
lang erlernten Bildern
Metaphern,
erwarteten Mustern,
Rhythmen, Reimen,
Strophen
Versmaß
Formen, Klängen:
das Neue.

(Google translate without adjustment)

Far behind the native horizon,

known words

long learned pictures

metaphors,

expected patterns,

Rhythms, rhymes,

verses

meter

Shapes, sounds:

the new.

(Google translate with adjustment)

Far beyond a well-known horizon
familiar words,
metaphors,
long learned pictures
expected patterns
rhythms
rhymes
verses
forms, sounds:

The new.

Mocking word

A word has to be found
A beautiful, beautiful word, a word of supreme standard,
to convince, to convict, to soothe, to pave, to unfetter, to persuade, to coax , to incite,
only it hides, it doesn’t want to be found, to be responsible
it stays on the tip of the tongue,
mocking me.

Whew!  I might have given up, if not for @Valkyrie:thankyou:
Whatever thought comes to mind... Tell me?

Neanderthal - I see him in a new light.

Not - I see stamping of feet and I want to kick doubt's ass . Horsefeathers!  :P

One - I want to wipe the tear.  And remember to never make idle dares ;)

Translation - I think this goes hand in hand with the last

Mocking Word - I can picture a mockingbird taunting, dangling the word just out of reach like a worm.

We're in the home stretch now, so no giving up for either of us.

You shouldn't doubt yourself, Adi. You obviously work well under pressure, and you have kept delivering thoughtful, stirring pieces all month. Neanderthal, Not*, And Mocking Word are superb. A favorite line... "Trust is the cradle of togetherness"

Thank you, Gary! I doubt myself all the time. Thinking my poems made some kind of difference, makes me happy!
