Aditus - Stories

These poems reflect my jumpy mind. Give it a try.

This is an experiment. I attempted to write a chamber slice-of-life piece: small space, small number of characters, two actually, not counting the cats.

Jovan got two tickets for an escape room for Secret Santa, but he never found anyone to accompany him. Almost a year later, on a whim, he invites his lunch buddy, Arden. The props are plentiful, the puzzles clever, and the story creepy. They would even have made it out in time if that door hadn’t stood ajar and Jovan been too curious.

What happens when the official office prankster accidentally gives his boss ice balls?

Sometimes trying times are most rewarding.

This is a semi-autobiographic slice-of-life story about coming home and moving on.

It's not just the weather that changes with the seasons.

A collaboration between Valkyrie and Aditus.

My attempt to sort through thoughts, feelings, and erratic ideas using poetic forms.

The Cat Burglar is the first book of The Professions Series. It was inspired by the 2021 anthology theme An Unconventional Gift.

Kavan has an unsuspected encounter on his 24th birthday that changes his entire life.

The Professions Series series should best be read in order, but each book follows a different brother.

Inspired by Jan Hutchinson’s prompts for National Poetry Writing Month 2023.

As I said somewhere else, I won’t manage to write a poem a day this April. The start was delayed, as I didn’t want to bore you with unimaginative rants giving righteous indignation and certain occurrences too many words and importance.

I was exploring a strange mood, this is the result.
