TJ's Journey to Parenthood - 11. Chapter 11

I was racking my brain about what Cam’s father could want. As far as I knew we were coasting through without any issues.

“TJ, my dad found out about what you want to do with the former Trump building” Cam said

“What? Who would have told him?” I said

“Apparently people are talking and it’s not from our side.” Cam said

“You mean someone from Baron’s team?” I asked shocked

“It seems one of his lawyers let is slip that Cam and I met with Baron about the building.” Grayson said

“Have you talked to Baron?” I asked

“Not yet, this literally just fell in out lap right before you walked in” Bob said

“I know he has no legal standing” I said

“Precisely TJ, he’s grandstanding” Jack said

“What an asshole” Jackson said

“My dad has always had an issue with me being gay. My mother only is staying with him because she would lose half of her worth.” Cam said

“Wait your mom is rich?” Grayson said

“Uh yeah, she’s part Morgan.” Cam said

“She’s a horse?” I asked and everyone laughed

“No moron, she’s the great-great grandchild of JP Morgan.” Cam said

“Oh that makes more sense.” I said and Jackson was smirking

“TJ, you really are something. So Cam, any chance your mom can smooth this out?” Jackson said

“I could talk to her but I need to get to her without my dad finding out.” Cam said

“Is there a relative that could help?” Bob asked

“I think I know how.” CC said coming into the room

“I keep forgetting you know my parents” Cam said

“I know your father slightly better but your mother is old New York Social Elite. She has friends in high places and so it happens, so do I” CC said

“You’re a Social Elite?” I said shocked

“Yes, I am young man.” CC said

“You’re dead” I said

“That may be true but you were my heir and I will help you make the call. We can get Madeline out of the house and Cam can talk to her.” CC said

“That sounds like a plan; my father always hated those socialite meetings.” Cam said

“CC if you lived in DC how are you a NY Socialite?” Jackson asked

“Well the family is from Ohio but we weren’t always from there.” CC said

“Why do I feel like we are about to have a sudden family revelation; who else are we related to?” I asked

“You know CC; I’ve tried to keep our family ties under wraps” Bob said angrily

“Bob it is only a matter of time before things are made public.” CC said

“I’d prefer they stay under wraps.” Bob said turning red

“Bob you need to relax. Our family is very complex and we do have some ties to other families” CC said

“Like who?” I asked intrigued

“Kennedy’s, Heinz, Vanderbilt's, and Carnegie to name a few” CC said

“We really got around.” I said amused

“When you have money the elite tend to stay close and marry families they know.” CC said

“You forgot some of the other’s” Bob said glaring

“Oh you mean like how Bob’s great-nephew’s is married to one of former President’s Obama’s grandchildren?” CC said

“What; that’s cool” I said

“Let me call Wyatt and see what I can set-up” CC said

“Who’s Wyatt?” I asked

“Wyatt Cooper; his father was a cousin and Wyatt loves to gossip like some of his father’s friends” CC said

“Just make sure Ben can be there; Mom loves him” Cam said

“That’s because Ben and Wyatt love to dote on her.” CC said laughing

“You really think you can pull this off?” Cam asked

“Your father is not that smart and it’s about time we gossip queens got together.” CC said laughing

“TJ, she doesn’t mean they were drag” Jackson said laughing

“Hey, that’s not what I was thinking” I said

“Sure babe” Jackson said

“Hey TJ, you have a call.” Kaiden said coming into the room

“Who would call the house and not my cell?” I asked

“He said his name was John something.” Kaiden said

“Kaiden, when people call you need to make sure they aren’t trying to harm TJ” Bob said annoyed

“May be John Trump?” I asked

“Sounds right.” Kaiden said

“Who’s John Trump?” Bob asked

“He’s Baron’s eldest son and he’s an architect.” I replied

“I see maybe fishing for a job.” Bob said

“Actually Bob, you should see of what he’s come up with plan wise. He has access to plans and had knowledge of the building. I can show you he’s come up with and it’s quite impressive” Jackson said

“Jackson, we’d love to see it; wouldn’t we Bob?” CC said

“Let me take the call and Bob you look at the plans. Grayson or Jack could one of you come with me?” I said

“Fine but I make no promises.” Bob said

“Grayson, why don’t we both go; this could be very interesting” Jack said and Grayson nodded

We went into the study

“Hey John; sorry to keep you waiting” I said putting the call on speaker

“Hey TJ, it’s fine; my dad asked that I call you away from the house.” John said

“Ok, I wanted to let you know I have my father in law and brother here; they are both lawyers.” I said

“That’s fine. Dad asked me to let you know he doesn’t plan on making any changes despite Patrick Worthington getting the rest of the family involved.” John said

“What do you mean?” Jack said probing

“Long story short, our lawyer broke confidentiality and told dad’s brothers, sister, nieces and nephews about the changes and created an outrage.” John said

“Wow, they know they don’t own the building right?” Grayson said

“Yeah they do and they want to buy it back” John said

“That’s not happening” I said

“That’s what dad said, he told them to go stuff it.” John said snickering

“I hope he is firing the law firm.” Jack said

“He is and he blew up at the partner for saying something. Apparently he called Patrick when he recognized Cameron” John said

“It must be one of the firms his dad black listed him at” Grayson said

“Most likely; Dad said to tell you move forward and he will handle the family. He’s calling grandma later to discuss.” John said

“Wait your grandmother?” I said shocked

“Yeah, she’s still alive and outlived Grandpa. Dad said he didn’t leave her much but he’s taken care of her. Dad stayed in the shadows until he was ready to make a move.” John said

“He sounds like a smart man” Jack said

“He is and I hope you don’t hold my grandfather’s mistakes over my dad. He’s trying to right the ship as he likes to say.” John replied

“It sounds like it. Tell him if he needs a good lawyer recommendation to give Jack Woolery a call and I’ll help” Jack said

“Actually I think he was planning on asking you. Dad did say wants to put Cameron front and center and prove his dad wrong.” John said

“Well he needs to talk to Cam first” Jack said

“He is going too. He said he would reach out later to set a meeting. I need to go got a text from my mom and I’m needed” John said

“Thank you for the call and keep us posted” I said

“I will; thank you” John said and ended the call

“What a polished young man” Jack said

“Wait till you see his designs” I said

“I am really excited to” Jack said smiling and patting my shoulder

We went looking for everyone and they were out on the patio getting it ready for dinner.

“How was the call” Jackson said

“A bit of a problem with Baron’s siblings but he’s handling it” I said

“CC did you know Melania Trump was still alive?” Jack said

“I had no idea; I wonder if she remembers me” CC said

“You know her?” I asked shocked

“Well we’ve met a few times as I fixed a few things for her and so you know I’ve done it for a lot of famous people and politicians.” CC said

“Well Bob what do you think of the plans?” I asked

“He is talented I’ll say that” Bob replied

“Well he was really surprised and like some of the details” Jackson said smiling

“See Bob, not hard to tell me the truth.” I said and Bob rolled his eyes

“Well the good news is we have a lunch scheduled tomorrow” CC said

“Were they surprised you’re alive?” I asked

“Not one bit and they said they knew I was always dramatic but it was a shame I lost that house” CC said

“It was a lovely house” Bob echoed

“I know but I had to for appearances” CC said

We all had steak that Kaiden made; he tried to imitate Grandpa Tony but wasn’t even close.

“Tristan did you fix your father?” I asked sitting down next to him after dinner

“No brudder; he not say he’s sorry” Tristan said

“Little man be the bigger person.” I said

“No, he have no fun till he say sorry; same goes for Emma” Tristan said

“You know I love you right?” I asked

“Yes brudder I do” Tristan said leaning into me and I put my arm around him

“I need you to teach Jamie and Mattie about being older brothers” I said

“I’m not sure he’d be a good choice” Kevin said and Tristan shot him a glare

“I think he’s an excellent choice” I said squeezing him

We adjourned for the night and I was reading a story to the kids when I heard an ear piercing scream from Kevin

“TRISTAN!”
