Poems of Love - 5. Chapter 5: Bittersweet Heartbreak

Time has flown by in an instant,
You and your special friend are
A union beginning a draft for a statement
It seems as though love will make you do anything
As long as you have the other person.

Something happened, now there’s a new perspective
You can’t look at each other the same way you once did
In a different time and place under different circumstances
So what can you do now? Now you can start with your number one
Relearning everything and going back basics, and apply this new insight

Although you smile, there’s still sadness in your eyes,
Sadness that will disappear sooner than later.
A fresh start, but is it really a fresh start now that you’re a new person?
Only you can decide that, but you won’t know until you try
Try to be better moving forward so it doesn’t seem you’ve lost too much

The old you would understand this logic, but the current you realizes now
You have tools to prevent this from happening again.
At this moment, you realize the cost of balance is no other than a
Bittersweet heartbreak, understanding this is the key
A key to a peace of mind so don’t overthink; just live your life.
