Welcome to Absurdistan - 1. Chapter 1

#1
I open
my eyes and leave my head prison
to walk along the freshly brown fields,
rippled by a stiff, spring breeze,
dust sloshes around my knees.

#2
Lightning splits atmospheric nitrogen and oxygen molecules, which results in the scent of rain: Petrichor.
It’s a warning. Beware of Earth doing a spring cleaning, water driven by her fury, sweeping away, dirt.

#3
Water laps against the windowsill; delicate rivulets form seemingly-complex patterns.
A cool breeze whispers softly through the house, harmonizing with the hypnotic rhythm of waves breaking.

The neighbors are islands.

#4
A flame thrower as a promotional gift, to scorch our sins straight to hell. Whooosh.

#5
It’s cold, we fold, energy is low, everything calms, some things die to become fertile soil. The slate is wiped as clean as possible. Restart?

I like Absurdistan, Adi. These are more complex than Haiku, but still concise enough to bring haiku to mind. #3 is wonderful. I totally get #4. Sometimes it seems that is what it would take to start fresh. :(  #5 gives me the same feel... a rebuild decided by the Earth Mother's cold intervention. :)  #1 I've walked through those fields, kicking up the dried dust, and it feels like the whole world is dying. #2 Sometimes, metaphorically speaking, the earth needs a good shower.

Thought-provoking and entertaining adds up to great poetry. Thanks, Adi. Cheers!

Thank you for this brief glimpse into your head. I like the term "head prison"  - it conjures up a kind of self-imposed capture which shows up in over-thinking the same stuff, over and over again. At least it presents that way in my "head prison".

Very thought provoking.

Exactly, and sometimes a sandbath! Thank you, Gary. I knew you would understand my erratic mind.

You're welcome. I'm glad you didn't find them too dissuading.

Your interpretation was spot on. At least there is a way out when we open our eyes. Thank you for the great comment.

Very thought provoking, and the glimpse into you mind and what it see is at times very prophetic, enlighting, or downright scary.  I enjoyed it nonetheless.
