After losing his twin brother in a violent tragedy, a former U.S. Marine returns to his roots in Bangkok, hoping distance might quiet the past that refuses to let go. Haunted by memory, guilt, and a love he was never allowed to name, Kent struggles to rebuild a life that no longer fits the person he used to be.

Across the hall lives Marvin—steady, observant, and patient in ways Kent doesn’t yet trust. What begins as proximity slowly becomes choice, forcing Kent to confront a different kind of fear: not losing the past, but moving forward without it.

Still Alive, Dumbass is a poignant story that portrays realistic emotions, haunting thoughts, nightmares, doubts, and insecurities. Traversing PTSD, depression, and grief is not a gentle journey. Anyone who knows those challenges will relate to Kent’s experiences as he struggles to move forward and learn to come to terms with the traumas of his past.

Like so many, Kent is determined to handle things on his own. Having returned to Thailand for an indeterminate stay, he meets his neighbor, Marvin, from across the hall. Follow along to see whether their tentative friendship can provide Kent, the patient, with the encouragement and support he needs to find peace finally.

Words don't express how well this story was written, and examined grief, PTSD and the impacts on veterans and others. It was slow, painful, and emotional yet very rewarding to go on the journey and see them through to the end.

The story revolves around Kent, who lost his twin in a tragic assault while he tried to do the right thing. It deals with him dealing with the fallout and lingering PTSD, while helped along the journey by a new friend and understanding neighbor.

Touching and beautiful, this is a slow-burning story about loss, grief, mental health - and the hard road to survival, healing, and love.
Ken, a war veteran, is haunted by the death of his twin brother and soulmate, who was killed in a street robbery. Struggling with PTSD, guilt, and overwhelming grief, Ken is invited to Bangkok for the reading of a grandfather's will. What was meant to be a short trip to settle legal matters turns into a not-so-gentle battle over inheritance.

With the help of a loyal cousin and a newfound friend and neighbor, Ken begins the difficult, emotional journey toward recovery - and ultimately, toward love.

This is the story of Kent, a former US Marine. He returns to Bangkok, after his brother is killed in a violent tragedy.

We watch as Kent struggles with depression, haunted by memories, guilt and a love that couldn't be named.

We watch as he struggles to rebuild his life. Marvin, the neighbour across the hall is steady and observant in a way Kent doesn't trust.

Read on to discover much more about Kent and his struggles.

Highly recommended.
