A New Outlook On Life - Prologue. Prologue

Johnson Tilden’s muteness wasn’t really a problem with his family, as his parents, older brother, and sister all learned ASL to allow Johnson to communicate with them.

Once he was old enough to read and write, he socialized more with the aid of an Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) device, which got more advanced as he aged.

At around twelve and a half, his body began to change. Plus, he realized he wasn’t like most other boys. While his friends were starting to think about girls, he only feigned interest. He was more interested in the boys themselves. Unfortunately, his AAC needed to be fairly loud so it could be heard in class, and that made private conversations difficult, nay, impossible.

That changed on his fourteenth birthday when he received his first pair of Sennheiser Momentum 4 Wireless Headphones. They were compatible with his Samsung Galaxy Tab. Private one-on-one conversations were now possible.

He had suspected his best friend Tanner Rhodes might share the same interests. He took a chance and asked him.
