Walking Through Darkness - 2. My Demons

Twisted and Mangled ,
Tattered and Torn -
Shredded beyond recognition ,
How my flesh burns in misery ,
Oh how it bleeds in agony .

The demons cackle in delight at my distress , at
my misery . How did it come to this ? My life in
ruin , beyond all repair - beyond saving .
The horror of life surrounds me enclosing me in
eternal darkness , I try fighting but the despair
I feel is to great a burden - a burden I can no
longer bear .
Fear has taken over , I can no longer hear
anything for the pounding of my heart racing
in terror it drowns out the sounds of
everything else .

Everything is a mystery to me . How could I
ever have let it gotten this far beyond my
control ? How will I ever survive ?

This is such a dark poem, Angel. Very powerful also - so much raw emotion in it.

I just wanted to point out two errors: demon's should be demons b/c you're not using as a possessive form such as: 'the demon's eyes were blood red'. Ok, so I'm not a writer, but you get the point. lol

The next error is bare should be bear: 'a burden I can no longer bear' - bear as in carry a load, carry a burden...

I look forward to your next poem, Angel. Hopefully it'll be a bit more cheerful?

I agree with Lisa, this is a very dark and powerful poem. And I hope that at least some of your poems will be more hopeful and happier.

This and quite a few others were written during a dark time that I went through I can't promise what the next one will be but I'm glad that you are willing to stick around for it

I do have a FEW that are light but so many are dark ,I had written them during a dark time and it was just an easy way to get out how I was feeling I'll try for something lighter but I make no promises. :)

Thank you for reading
