Is hunger a pain that needs staving off;

Is nostalgia a memory to suppress?

No answers come without questioning soft

The reason why our knowledge we repress.

My brain's a mire, where everyday I sink

To deeper regions that seem only fit

For less than subtle minds, that merely think

Rock bottom's a place it will never hit.

Buon compleanno Tony, carino mio –

 

Questa cosa qua condicione dell'amore?

Sempre questa, respirare alla polmoni,

il sangue dal vene mio,

e il pensieri nella mia testa –

Simply this, the breath in my lungs,

The blood coursing in my veins,

and the thoughts in my head –

All of these are your voice,

Love number nineteen; when I read it out loud in Italian (that was Italian, right? lol), not that I know Italian, but it sounds beautiful. I can imagine how beautiful it would sound spoken in Italian by someone who knows the language. lol :)

Thanks for all your amazing reviews and support! It humbles me, and yes, I think the birthday poem (in Italian ;) ) is most beautiful when said aloud. I'm thrilled that you read that way.
