Summer Love

An unfinished rough draft of a fantasized summer vacation when I was 13.

Comments and critiques both welcomed and requested! I know this is rough, but I can't tell what needs to be fixed without feedback. Thanks in advance!

Disclaimer:

• Except for the narrator and "Aunt Edie", all characters are fictional and owned by the author. "Aunt Edie" is based on my real great-aunt, but she was a sweet lady who was never as cranky as I made her out to be in this story. (Sorry, Aunt Edie!) Also, the description of Santa Monica Pier is highly inaccurate, since I haven't been there in more than 20 years.

• Nothing like this ever happened to me, even in my dreams growing up. At the time this story would have taken place, I was so far in the closet you wouldn't have been able to find me with a floodlight. This is purely a romantized fantasy of a summer that never happened.
