Life behind Hazel Eyes - 9. Fallen Leaf

Strange things creep into your mind when you are alone and on the edge.

I place myself comfortably under an old oak tree. In all honesty things haven’t been going great. That’s why I took this drive down here; to visit a familiar spot that was always able to nurture me and make me feel better. I’m perched on top of a steep hill that probably has the best view of the sunset, the warm colours that adorn the sky. The red that plays off the orange, which mysteriously has a tinge of blue, and the sun is no longer red but a bright gold. My thoughts start to fill my mind and a brown leaf falls onto my lap: it only causes me to think of him.

These drugs are so great they have me faded. They have me set on wanting nothing but your heartbeat, deliver me and take me to heaven. These thoughts I think, they’ll stay hidden for you are never to know how I’m feeling: a stoic face, a lustful soul and a pacing heart. In and out of my dreams, that’s where your face lies. Bury my thoughts deep inside so you’ll never know for what we are is sin, for what we are will never be. Yet, I rest my head to think of we, and think of us in prose and fairy-tale lands where you, my dearest flower, are lightened up by my butterfly soul, where it will settle. I land without knowing what it is you are doing. I’ll awake and for you I’ve penned my thoughts:

Red rose, friend of my butterfly soul.

My wings so majestic and technicoloured

are built to fly and,

deliver me to you.

I’d rest on your petals all day.

So our beauty can rival all else.

They’d find us resting,

with no hopes of moving.

Your pollen filled with deep emotions.

Petals so jubilant and alive emit

an aroma that colours the sky so sweet

bathing the world with savoured sweetness.

Grace the world with sweet fruits.

So few live without;

so little searches a lot.

Planets apart

eerily on a voyage to find your scent.

Thorns dangerously fragile.

My blood flows to match your petals.

Symbols of life bound together,

as my blood touches your petals.

Carry on the drop that has been spilt by my heart.

Moons have come to be bitten into smiles

and become full again

while on my journey.

Your beauty has blossomed and died

within my journey to you.

Planets have known the footprints of my soul.

Finally here I am

I have found you

deeply rooted in an overcrowded graveyard,

No beauty in your background.

I let the peace and truth in my words lull me and cradle me back to sleep. My dear rose, I’ll always tell you I love you. Even if only in my soul, heart and mind. I’ll run my fingers through your hair and hold your body tight, for all I have is your body. Someone else has claimed your heart and mind.

These thoughts belong to someone, but who could they belong to? Who could he/she be talking about? Stay reading for more hints at the end of each chapter. smile.png
