Poetry in the Dark - 2. âme soeur

Please accept this as a peace wager for my absence.

My soul mate lives in lyrics and fictional workings. Stead fast in never coming to life. I imagine him walking, talking and playing. I imagine his entire being. I know his problems, his fears and his insecurities. He is, the manifestation of my dreams and hopes. All my eggs placed in one proverbial basket. Imaginary eggs, belong in an imaginary basket. Imagined love: the elusive reward for struggles and fights. The salvation that we all seek. A salvation that entraps us into trepidation. Enslaves us to speak fruitless words of feigned emotions. To go about exploiting emotions out of their owners, all in an attempt to find it. Discovering errors and faults but never solutions. How much have you wanted to escape? How many times have you escaped and returned?

Scared to leave love, scared to live a martyr.
