Callum, a conscript in a century-long war, serves as a medic in the Anberan army. His adversary—a monstrous race of fierce warriors—battles to control the Anberan's stolen territory. A mishap propels Callum far beyond enemy lines, leading to his capture and interrogation. His captor, however, presents a radically different account as to why they’re warring, filling Callum with doubt.

The Roaming Sea is a fantasy novel exploring themes of environmental exploitation, generational fascism, loneliness, and finding compassion in the unlikeliest of places.

Every once in a while, and more often than not on this story site, a story comes along and captivates you from beginning to end.

It bears repeating, we are so lucky with the work authors create and posting on this site. it is what makes GA one of the best story sites out there.

The story defies casual description other than to say it is about finding oneself and love in the process...Fraught with twists and turns this story will hook you! 

All I can say is, read. this. story!!!!!

Mcarss has skillfully crafted a world different from our own, but harrowingly the same in many ways. Callum is rare among his kind, ethical, gentle, and deep thinking. He is lost and lonely in his birthplace. His entry into manhood takes him places he has only dreamed of and a great adventure awaits.
