Menace's Collection - 3. Chapter 3

There are some metaphors as what she is doing. A clue is "Melancholy" . What do people do when they are depress and sad?

Melancholy

Droplets splatter the concrete as she walked down the dark and lonely night. Lightening flashes in the dark from the surrounding clouds. Light shone past her as she walks past the light post. Her foot making waves on the flooded concrete Wind blew her long silky wet hair while rain drops tickle down her face. She’s soaked in her jump suit and her shoulders quivering. Her voice is nothing of an angel, but speaks slowly and with monotone. She has no smile, but can force a fake smile. She walks to her house from her therapist job, alone and dark in the deep night. She owns no vehicle, but likes the walks on dark lonely nights. She walks with no haste but phlegmatically. She lives alone in a huge void dark mansion filled with no other human scent but hers. Her favorite food is ice cream while she hates hot and spicy food. . She loves to watch Titanic and listen to “My Heart Will Go On” by Celine Dion. She doesn’t have many friends, but she does hang out with elated and cheerful. Her emotion is devoid of feelings except melancholy.

Hope you liked it.

Melancholy is a Sadness.

A lonely retreat

I found this piece alluring

And softly upbeat.

How does she sleep

When there is sorrow in the grass

How does she live

If her gloom is based on her past.

I enjoyed this piece. Nice short sentences that capture the gloom and sorrow of melancholy personified in a woman. The wind. The dark. The despondency. Maybe she seeks to be loved?

Well done.

Wow Dennis, your captured the meaning and feeling of melancholy so well in your writing. I could feel her loneliness, feelings of silence broken by the sounds made only by her, treading through the water. What better to fuel these feeling than watching "Titanic"? Great job!

Thank you for reading and reviewing! There are some metaphors in there. Imagine a woman feeling sad in a dark lonely night. " Rain tickle down her face", "Her shoulders quivering"

How nicely you have described the meaning of melancholy in just few but powerful words. There wasn't a better way to show her loneliness and sadness via this amazing song (and my personal favorite), 'My heart will go on' from Titanic.

Great Job Menace:) I loved it.
