Menace's Collection - 4. December Embrace

Mine and maybe yours December embrace

December Embrace

As I walk down this dark and cold road.

I remember you told me to follow my warmth

Where is my warmth when you're gone?

How do I pass this winter without your embrace?

Your love filled me in many chambers.

Your embrace is stronger than the sun.

Should I follow your footsteps to get that warmth again?

Your light was the only light that sliced through my darkness

Your degree was higher than the earth's core.

As I walk, the snow lightly tap on my shoulders.

Memories flood my mind trying to overcome the cold

But the memories wasn't as robust as the cold.

I quiver without control

I walk without knowing where I was going

And before I know it, your door was right in front of me

Should I knock, or should I not?

I wasn't strong enough to see you again, so I walk away

I walk past your home, past the light, and into the dark

Aimlessly walking away from the only warmth in my heart

But another light shines before me

A light so strong, it beams.

As I walk toward the light, your face appeared.

Then memories flood my mind.

I tried to turn and walk away, but your arm reached out to me.

And then I was pulled in an embrace.

Slowly the warmth influx into me

Slowly seeping into my heart

Your temperature melted my snow

Melting my solid heart to liquid

And finally I was warm again.

Hope you like it!

I like this on several levels: the first is how your writing has matured by leaps and bounds. The second us the pattern of the language. Not only should free poetry be just that, free, but it should also have pattern and form. Thirdly, i enjoy the images and the meaning. A poem, in my mind should have various meanings. The one that struck out was of a love lost and the yearning to b together again. The other for me was, well, the weather dang it. I thoroughly enjoyed this first thing in the morning. Now i can have my coffee. Well done mister man.

I guess it was different from your previous poems of 'Menace collections'. I found this poem romantic. It was a short story me to and i loved each and every word of it. It was hard for me to pick up my favorite lines but I found few,

'I wasn't strong enough to see you again, so I walk away

I walk past your home, past the light, and into the dark

Aimlessly walking away from the only warmth in my heart' and

'Your temperature melted my snow

Melting my solid heart to liquid

And finally I was warm again'

These were my favorite lines. End was just perfect.

My favorite poem of your collection so far.

Thanks for sharing it with us:)
