The Tide Began to Rise - Repost - 32. Chapter 32

[Collin’s POV]

Why am I doing this? I’m here for 2 weeks, and already I’ve fallen for a guy in a relationship. I can’t have him, but I want him. Brad told me to go for it. I wouldn’t have listened to him, if Brent wasn’t flirting with me so much. I have noticed the way that he is looking at me. The way his body language changes when he talks to me. I don’t want to ruin what he and Tyler have. But to me, if he is doing so much flirting, he must not be entirely happy where he is at. I want to talk to him about it, but I’m not sure how to bring it up.

“So Brent, what do you like to do for fun?”

“I don’t know anything really. Why?”

“Just trying to get to know you more.”

“Ok, well ask me anything. I will answer. I’ve got nothing to hide.”

“Ok, what is your favorite food?”

“Hmm, I would have to say that it would be tacos. I will smash some tacos boy.”

“Ok, umm, what is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you?”

“Wow, going for the nitty- gritty fast. The most embarrassing thing for me was about 2 years ago. I was in the locker room at school, taking a shower. Some of the other guys decided to play a joke on me. They took all my clothes and my towel and hid them. One guy was standing in the door way with my towel. I told him to give it. He was like “come get it.” I ran over to him. As soon as I was close, he ran down the hall. Like an idiot I ran after him; completely naked; down the hall from the locker room to the lunch room. I had gym class while some people were eating lunch. So I ran into the lunch room butt naked. Everyone was staring at me. I thought I was going to die.”

“Wow, I wish I was here two years ago.”

“Yeah, then you would have gotten to see all my glory.” He laughed “Ah here’s Spencer’s”

“Sweet”

We walked around the store. I kept asking him questions. I think I had asked him 40 or so. I was trying to muster up the courage ask him the question that I really want to ask.

“Ok Brent, I have one more question. With this one, don’t think about it, just answer. OK?”

“Ok”

“Do you like me?”

“Yes……….. I mean…………….. Collin, why would you do that?”

“Because I have seen the way you look at me. I wanted to hear you say it. I feel the same what about you.”

“But Tyler and I are together.”

“I don’t mean this that wrong way, but if your flirting this much, then you must not be as happy as you think you are.”

“Whether I am or not, you have to let me decide when and If choose to do something about that. But I will answer your question with some thought. Collin, yes I like you. You’re great. You are fun to talk to and be around. I’m not going to lie, I think you’re hot. I love your accent. It turns me on. In the car, there were two reasons for my questions. One was to get to know you more; the other was to hear your voice.”

“Yeah I know. I was giving you long winded answers. Would you get upset if I give you a hug?”

“Not at all.”

I walked up closer to Brent and put my arms around him. We held the hug. I certainly didn’t want to let go. It seemed like Brent didn’t want to either. Brent finally pulled back a little; But not enough to break the hold. We both looked each other in the eye. A smile grew on my face. What happened next, I wanted to happen, but I wasn’t expecting it. Brent moved his headed closer to mine, closed his eyes and gave me a kiss. It wasn’t just a quick kiss, it was a long kiss. There was passion in the way he was kissing me.

“Brie, did you drive your car?”

[Tyler’s POV]

(10 minutes before)

“There is nothing here I want.” Brie said

“I know, maybe I just don’t want to shop today.” I said. “Let’s head down to hang out with Brent and Collin.”

“Ok”

We left the store and headed to Spencer’s to see if they were still there. I knew they would be. Brent could spend all day in that store. We walked in the store’s door way and I stopped dead in my tracks. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. Then it got worse. Brent kissed him. He made the move.

Tears where filling my eyes as I turned towards Brie. “Brie, Did you drive you car?” I made sure to say that loud enough for both of them to hear me.

“Yes I did, I parked next to James. Here are my keys.”

I took the keys from her hand and turned and walked away. Tears were falling from my eyes. I started running towards the car. I didn’t care about anyone that got in my way. I ran into a few people, maybe even knocked a couple down.

[Brent’s POV]

“Brie did you drive your car?”

Oh my fucking god. I pushed Collin away and started after Tyler. Brie stepped in front of me.

“Get out of my way.” I yelled

“How could you do this? Do you know what you meant to him? I don’t know if you know this or not, but he loved you. He tells me everything. He has told me everything that you have done. No matter what you have said, no matter what you have done to hurt him, he never stopped loving you. What you just did is too much. Don’t you even try and push it on Collin. We both saw you make the move.”

“MOVE!”

She stepped aside. I ran after Tyler. That bitch helped him get away. I ran towards the parking lot to see if I could see him. I got out side and looked around. He was nowhere to be seen. I pulled out my phone. I dialed his number. It rang twice then the call ended. 10 seconds later I got a text.

~I don’t want to talk. I’m done.~

~What do you mean ur done?~

“I’m sorry.” I turned around and saw Collin.

“It’s my fault. I’m the one that wanted to kissed you.”

“I’m guessing he won’t talk to you right now.”

I showed him Tyler’s text. Tears started to fill my eyes. After a few minutes of me crying, I heard some familiar voices behind me. I turned around and saw Brie, Jennifer, and Brad. They all had a look of disappointment on their faces.

“Guys…..”

“Whatever Brent.” James said

“Please….”

“No” Jennifer said.

They all went to the cars. I stood up to follow them. I knew Tyler was going to be there. Some how Brie knew what I was thinking. She stopped dead in her tracks, turned around and gave me a death glare. I stopped, hung my head and walked to my car. Collin followed.

“I guess I will see him at home.”
