Moments & Unspoken Words - 2. Unspoken Words
Even though I sit home alone
While my father is hard at work
I have something deep inside of me
Something which I don’t know how to tell?
It isn’t easy being a teenager living with him
He tells me I think I know it all
But then again, maybe I do
It seems like he knows all
I find it a challenge with him
To converse, not argue
It is hard to admit to
But we are both stubborn as mules
I try to show I care for him
I guess I never learned quite how
But then again, does anyone?
Maybe I’ll learn before it is too late
I have put off saying this to him
But I don’t know how he will react
Only if, I could just say
“Dad, I love you”
I wrote this poem to my Dad in Grade Ten after he had his first angioplasty
