Eloquence From the Heart - 3. Coming Home

The theme for this one just came to me as i was watching a video of soldiers coming home, and the words almost flowed faster then i could keep up.

Eighteen Months Over Seas

All they dream about is coming home

While they work through sweat and sand

Until they're tired to the bone

Finally their tour is over

And they can leave the desert behind

While the memory of their fallen friends

Weighs heavily on their mind

As they're packing their duffles

And are getting ready to leave

They smile at their surviving brothers

Proud of the flag on their sleeve

Finally back in the states

A thought begins to rise

Not of rushing strait home

But of planning a great surprise

They bide their time and hide the fact

That they're home at last

And as they wait for the big reveal

They listen to their heart race so fast

Families cry, and run to hug

Knocking our soldiers to the floor

While people around them smile and applaud

For the families are complete once more

So to all the soldiers over seas

No matter how far they roam

I thank them for their service

And wish them safely home
