Writers block a crime of the mind!

Discovering a cure

The other day I was writing, one minute words were flowing from my head the next minute a concrete wall had been built and all the words disappeared. I was a victim of writers block any journalist, authors or writers worst enemy. So I thought to myself is there a cure for writers block, and in spent a good two or three hours searching, browsing and finding nothing. I was disappointed so I gave up in the end saved my story and closed the laptop feeling sorry for myself. I wake up this morning and ideas are pouring from my head to fast for me to write them down, and I cracked it I have found a cure for writers block a good night sleep. The medicine for everything sleep ,the most natural and safest cure for anything letting the brain settle and rest after a hard days work. We sometimes forget how much we use our brain ever movement every sight, every sound our brain is on full throttle ever single second of the day and whilst we sleep the brain is resting but still working. We should appreciate our brain, and this may sound strange but give it a days break it needs it more then we need a break.

Writer's block is a real problem and all writers will feel it. I find that if i do something else in that moment, and return to writing say a few hours later, then I am fine and continue writing. Its my brain saying hang on, you need to rest from all these words, otherwise you going to write without passion. Another way i defeat writers block is to free write without punctuation or grammar which i call streaming.

just walk away, physically and mentally, from the whole thing. Go about your daily stuff and you'll somehow get stimulated by external stuff. You'll see a car that drives by with an engaging sign on it then boom --> idea is yours.

I rewrite other people's writing like my favourite author's obscure work for eg. It's like rephrasing the same sentences in your own way. It helps me concentrate. Also I do lots of reading and listening to music. Don't try to force the words out, that never works out right. Try to get your serenity of mind back and for that do whatever that works for you. Sleep is a good option, as you have found out first hand. Oh! Sex does wonders for an overworked brain. Endorphines relax your nerves. So you are, as the Chinese put it, renewed in the coupling. Hugs and chocolates.
