January Classic Author Feature: Days of Farewell by Gabriel Morgan

Welcome to 2021 and a new series of Classic Author features. A lot of these stories are older ones you might not have read before, since many of our Classic Authors aren't active on the site anymore. Enjoy this year's features starting with Gabriel Morgan's short story, Days of Farewell, as we say farewell (and good riddance! to 2020). It's all about the goodbye.

This story is a masterclass in short story writing.  :worship:  The descriptions, emotions, characterization... everything packs a punch in an economy of words.  It's well worth taking the time to read.  After passing me a tissue... :P

Thanks for featuring this, @Cia. It's superbly written, and while sad, I am the better for reading it. I left a comment and a review... cheers!
