What a terrible word! I can’t imagine that even in the French language this word can roll off the tongue. It’s certainly more indicative of the first definition than it is to declare something to be outstanding. If someone were to use it for the second definition to describe something I had done, I might give ‘‘em a slap and tell them to take it back!
