My mom made up words all the time when I was a child. She also made up her own lyrics to popular songs. This was very confusing for me and part of the reason I struggle with my vocabulary. I was embarrassingly old when I realized umpteen was a real word and not something my mom made up.

Just wait until we get into gaggles, collywobbles, taradiddles, flibbertigibbets, donnybrooks, and bumfuzzles.

(and yes, those are all real words)
