Yuletide is a pagan holiday celebrated on the Winter Soltice.

December 25th was chosen to celebrate Christmas by the Emperor Constantine because it coincided with Saturnalia, birth of the Sun God. It was the easiest way to integrate Christianity into a still largely pagan population and unify them under one religion.

Think on this as you seek out the TV channel with the virtual Yule log burning in a fireplace.

Not to be confused with roll tide, which is a common phrase you hear down here in the south, especially in Alabama.

Absolutely. Although here in Bama, the Tide approaches the level of a religion for some.
