Yclept, or ycleped, is an archaic word from Old English (gecleopod).  It is the past participle of the equally archaic word cleopian (call).  The Germans and Dutch still use a form of the word gecleopod.

This may come as a shock to some of you, that GA/Myr, is not, I repeat not, the only site to offer a 'Word of the Day'. In fact there is a site, called that and guess what/all that it does? Surprise!!

Word of the Day - yclept | Dictionary.com

(Listen to its' PODCAST, 2min:12sec., yclept in a nutshell.)

To top it off, if you like to read(a given), this site, has it all for you, info with some humor, facts, stories and visuals. Enjoy!
