Given that @Myr has become sequipedalian, I find that I'm becoming hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliaphobia (pronounced hippo-poto-monstro-ses-quipper-DAY-lia-phobia.)

Just so there are no misinterpretations, sequipedalian means "given to using long words" and hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliaphobia means "having a fear of long words". :)

Okay, I'll play nice now.

Meaning of misinterpretation in English. the act of forming a wrong understanding of something that is said or done, or an example of a wrong understanding: The statement is unclear and open to misinterpretation (= could easily be misinterpreted). This is a deliberate misinterpretation of events.

I don't know about you, but this sure sounds like politics(these days) to me.

People are being misinterpreted all the time

for example, when someone says “I love penguins”

they don’t mean this -_-

Many people have checked out from the mainstream media because their "mistakes" are too consistent and all benefit one side for it to be simple misinterpretations. They are lying, and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure it out.
