halfway through

Eh after twenty minutes I guess that's a good enough title. I say halfway through meaning halfway through summer. Now I know it's not the "official" halfway point but here the hot months are June, July and August (I even drew a skull and crossbones on those three months on my calender at work. hehehe) So by July fifteenth I figure it's the halfway point. September starts cooling off. Though last year Sam and I went to a fair in October and usually this is a fair where you gotta wear long sleeves and jackets but this time it was soooo hot everyone was in shorts and T-shirts. It's very rare, in fact I think I heard at least 20 people say "can you believe we are wearing shorts!" So it was even quite the topic of conversation. That fair though is the only one we go to every year. I love it because it's in the fall (my favorite time of year) and usually it's cool, and also there's a lot of agricultural stuff, like livestock and prize winning veggies and stuff and I just love that stuff. And the food booths ofcourse!! Neither Sam or I are too big on the rides so mostly we just walk around looking at the animals, veggies and eating. hehe.

Thanks for all your advice on my high blood pressure situation. I have completely stopped adding salt to things and am eating (mostly) stuff that doesn't have a lot of salt added. I still have a weakness though, about 2pm every day at work I go for the pretzel bucket and eat two pretzel's feeling like if I don't have just a bit of salt I just might not make it the rest of the day. But considering that's pretty much all the salt I'm having a day I'd say I've cut down 98 percent. And GOOD NEWS my last blood pressure check it was 148 over 84 so it went down quite a bit. I'm completely recovered from the pneumonia too, I was starting to think I was never going to get rid of the cough but sometime over the last few days it's gone away and I didn't even really notice. Just last night Sam and I were laying in bed and he was like "you know you haven't coughed all day" and I was like "OH YEAH!" It's amazing how something can annoy you sooo bad then you don't even really notice right away when it's gone.

I have to work late three days this week because one girl is on vacation. I was griping to myself the other day how I always have to cover EVERYONE's vacation but then I got thinking that was kind of cool, because the reason I cover everyone is because I'm the only one that knows everyone's jobs, so that made me feel good, and it gives me really good job security! So I won't gripe toooo much about it. hehehe

In story News Cameron probably has 2-3 more chapters, as soon as that's done posting I have another story which Sharon is editing for me I haven't had a chance to really look it over but there's lots of red corrections which must mean she doesnt' miss a thing! Which is great because my grammar and punctuation have made lasting scars in some people's minds! This new story is the one I've said before that I am scared to post, but those that have read it said I should post it so I'm just going to do it and hope for the best.

Well I guess I'm done rambling for now. I hope everyone has a great week and try and stay cool. Falls just around the corner! hehehe

If you think it's hot up there, sweetie, you should try coming down here for the summer. Or, better yet, try a summer in Taiwan. I survived five of them, and it wasn't pleasant. ;)

Glad to hear about the new story coming out, and I'm sure Sharon is going to do a fantastic job. I'll be expecting a big bouquet of flowers in the mail from you to thank me for forcing you (which took about a month to do) to get a really good editor (and from what I've heard, Sharon is excellent). And people will love you even more than they already do when they see the re-edited version of "Shane." :great: A good editor can make all the difference. I'm not nearly as talented as you when it comes to telling a story, but Kitty somehow manages to make it all work out.

I really hate not eating salt. I know how it goes though. 2 pretzels a day is very good. I went over a week and a half without eating anything with salt. Last night i cheated.

I had chicken and sweet corn. But the only way i would salt the corn was to pour it into my hand first, so I could see exactly how much was going on it. I used BBQ sauce to flavor the chicken.(actually I really cheated--I picked off a piece of chicken and took it over to the sink and salted it and ate it--it really tasted good!) But I only did that with one tiny little piece no larger than a quarter.

And hey, I usually only go to one fair per year too. But it is labor day weekend every year, The great Minnesota get together, The Minnesota State Fair. It is still usually pretty hot. I used to go just because it was fun(I lived less than a mile away when I was a kid), But now it is more of my way of telling myself that things are allright with my world. I have only missed the state fair in 1993(That year my biof was on his downward spiral, And I used the $7 it would have cost to get in to keep myself fed for 2 weeks instead). Now I go for all the unhealthy food. I just have to have my deep fried cheese curds, fresh never frozen french fries, mini donuts, fresh lemonade, alligator on a stick, deep fried candy bar on a stick, pork chop on a stick.

And then we can't forget the most important fair food item. The Pronto Pup. Not a corndog, You can get a corndog anywhere. A Pronto Pup is far superior to any "corndog". Corndogs are made with cornmeal batter. Pronto Pups are made with a flour batter. BIG Difference!!

I just have to say that this story is by far my favorite of Vance's. Its very intense and even though I've read through it several times, I cry every time. Fair warning though, the first few chapters have some extremely violent scenes, but to have watered them down would have cut the legs out from underneath what is a very powerful story. I hope everyone that reads it gets the same message that I do.

And I did tell Vance not to panic over the red. It's not as bad as it looks. But if I have to correct 'gonna' one more time, I'll have to hunt him down. :lmao:

Hi Vance!

Glad to hear that your blood pressure is under control.

My doctor always seems disappointed when my blood pressure is so normal since I could lose 20 pounds and smoke camels.

Blood pressure can be greatly effected by nerves. If you were stressed out when they took it, it could have skewed the reading toward the high side.

You're way too young for high blood pressure. You are supposed to be over forty, 20+ pounds overweight and smoke camels to have high blood pressure. You could get in trouble with our Union!
