The gray cat honors you with the oppertunity to take him in and feed him two cans of fancy feast every day for the rest of his hairry life.

It is an honor after all. Cats pick their people and they are very good judges of character. They know which humans can be trained and which ones can not.

Cats are evil. The day we picked up my dog, he chased a bunch of cats around a field, in fact he chases anything that moves, so I know he's not defective . One time I was driving about 55-60 MPH into a jughandle (didn't bother to slow down, it was a long, smooth jughandle), and a cat ran across the road. I still didn't slow down, but the bastage got away. Oh and cigarettes are evil too. We like you Dom, and want you to hang around for a bit longer

Yeah for Matt....and I am glad that he convinced you to stop smoking those evil cigarettes that run your health and empty your wallet.....I am allergic to cigarette smoke (goes back to being a very small child and being stuck in the front middle seat next to my father in his big old station wagon and he chained smoked....and sadly as a small boy with all that smoke in the air, my lungs smoked with his.....so glad he gave them up a few years later..I have two sisters who smoke and aren't allowed to smoke in my home..and I don't care how bad the weather is if they visit me..smoke outside and away from my humble abode..if they are going to pollute their lungs- not on my watch!!)

I am with your dog....cats are evil (cat dander/hair makes my allergies go nuts and they are just sneaky and evil and if I were the dog I would run away from it too..one of my friends has a cat that I call the Exorcist...it sees me and gets all crazy hissing and head turning all the way around and evil hexes thrown on me....it hates me and I am terrified of it.....now don't say it...yeah, I am a scaredy cat....no a scared Italian who FREAKS OUT OVER CATS.....TRUST ME...YOUR DOG IS SMART..RUN AWAY....RUN FAST AND RUN FAR!!

I know doesn't help if you are the end of the leash as the dog yanks you fast and furious down the block away from evil cat!

My dog Truffle adores cats. She loves to give them cardiovascular exercise and can't understand why they don't appreciate it when she licks their ears.

My cat has nothing but contempt for all dogs except for the poor late Toto who raised him, and a bit of grudging tolerance for Truffle. When Toto died and we got Truffle it took the cat a couple of years to forgive her for being the wrong dog. Or to forgive us for bringing the wrong dog home.

Cats are not as smart or as affectionate as dogs, but they are fine nevertheless.

Speaking ofextra Ss -- people always want to call my dog Truffles, when they don't insist that she should really be called Trouble.

I think the names you give your stories are intriguing -- they almost make sense, and it's another bit of suspense, wondering what the titles are going to turn out to mean.

LOL--I am writing this with my evil grey cat sitting on my lap. Not that I want him there, that is his decision and I have no real say in the matter, which tells you something about him and me. Our cat is the Alpha dog in this house....he regularly chases the 2 (large) dogs around the house.

Cold meds don't cure colds. All they do is make the symptoms better. Sometimes they also make a person sleepy so they sleep more and that's good for healing. Taking general cood care of yourself -- some exercise, some rest, good nutrition, fluids -- that helps. Chicken soup, you know, for electrolites and fluid and feeling good.

I may be being motherly, myself, but I asked my kid to make sure I was right!

Oh yes, they can get along: Loki and Truffle get along really well. It only took Loki a couple of years to forgive Truffle for being the wrong dog, and he still thinks she's a jerk, but Truffle respects him and treats him really gently, which is important, because she is 50 pounds of muscle, bone, and tooth, and Loki's a medium sized cat. And they both sleep on my bed at night.
