I'm not exactly sure but it almost looks like you're implying that it's bullshit... I may be reading too much into what you wrote though - not sure 0:)

PS Windows mobile FTW!

edited, poorly written message...

Want to clarify I think both at fault, I read few of those types of forums, but not much about iphone to be honest.

-nice way to edit out what was said-

Im not dumb drewbie... I know O2 TMobil Rogers etc are all foreign contracts. I even know they have MMS and tethering, have had it since the June Update to OS 3.0Probably coincides with the whole At&t having provider exclusivity in the US. Yeah that sounds about right. Those two words are easy enough to understand. and I never said I have multiple issues with the iPhone now did I? I was calling at&t and apple out on their bullshit.

why get a blackberry or a Windows mobile phone? I can get a pos freebie and still have MMS so why pay the money?

Anyhow thank you for participating next time read more then three sentences before you reply okay?

oh and before anyone else goes all fanboy on me... the post was written using pages run on a macbook pro using OS X 10.6 and posted via Safari. I have a legitimate gripe... one which I am not alone on. and personally I think both AT&T and Apple share in the MMS debacle that exists on the iPhone. Sorry if that wasn't extremely clear in the blog post itself

I did read all of it. wasn't sure if you knew all of it or not. and I know apple has screwed up, a fanboy would never disagree with steve jobs, which I think he should go and apple has it's own issues on other products

Others, said apple should of had other features on it awhile ago, and never should of gone to at&t or thought should of never gone exclusive.

Sorry, I wasn't sure if you had or not given some of your responses... which are the blanket responses of many Apple enthusiasts when someone voice a legitimate complaint about an otherwise stellar piece of equipment. Your Response of Get a blackberry or a win based phone are strewn throughout a number of different Mac sites, including their own support forums.

Its like there is some sort of cult of don't complain or they might take it all away!

AT&T's exclusivity is neither here nor there... if it would have gone to Verizon the same issues would have cropped up. Like it or not the phone is a bandwidth hungry device but that is no excuse for delaying MMS as AT&T is using it as an excuse. Especially when they are going balls to the wall on advertising mobile broadband connectivity cards and netbooks that access data over their 3G network.

Steve, do you know if we will have to pay extra for MMS?

shadowgod

nope its included in the messaging charge you already pay per month that a plus I guess... :)

Yeah it is.

It is about time...

One more question ye of infinite knowledge. I read somewhere that you have to be connected to 3G in order to send them. Do you know if that is accurate?

:D

hrmm dont think so, should send through the same protocols as regular MMS... it'll just go faster with 3G. I could be wrong though especially with the video. I know only the 3g and 3gs phone can do it. but that is a hardware feature and not a 3g feature I believe.

AT&T does some thing exceptionally well from the technical side of the ball. NOBODY does fiber, long-lines or network management better. The problem occurs when they get surprised by new and extraordinary requirements.

Some years ago they built a network backbone based on the requirements that they had at that point in time.

Two mergers in particular blew those requirements completely out of the water. By adding Bellsouth and Cingular, AT&T became a dominate player in the wireless market. The problem is that they have had serious problems integrating those three networks. Now they have a national network backbone that isn't capable of handling their new customer volume that has been built up out of several mergers.

They are in the process of building capacity- I've worked on it as a contractor. That takes time and they are slowly getting things worked out. It would be really nice if their business office talked to their engineers once in a while so they would know what to expect.

AT&T is, at the moment, in the position of an ordinary McDonalds that has 12 tour buses arrive during their morning rush. They've thrown in some biscuits and put on extra sausage on but it's going to take a while to work it all out.

It's good to have a lot of customers but you've got to deliver if you expect to keep them. I think that they will if they don't alienate the customers that they have by making lame excuses. IMHO they should just tell the truth and I think most people will understand.
