Alex Posted November 1, 2015 Posted November 1, 2015 So I believe I am not alone when I say, "OMG best thing ever". Since I was little I remember playing Star Wars games, watching the movies, and even reading many of the Extended Universe novels. I always have loved Star Wars and it has been something I have liked for a majority of my life so far. And seeing as this game will be released very soon and having already played the beta, I'd like to make this post for your opinions and expectations on this title. Star Wars games like Knights of the Old Republic, the StarFighter series, Jedi Knight series, and the original battlefront series made the impact on me. It is what got me gaming and opened up avenues for all sorts of titles. The Star Wars games that truly shine for me are Knights of the Old Republic, Battlefront series, and one not mentioned Star Wars Republic Commando. These games introduced me to gaming of different types and were some of the first ones I enjoyed. Now past my full geek freak. I would love to see your opinions and expectations as I said above, because I can can say without a doubt that I am hyped for this game and cannot wait to jump into all these different game modes and types in one of my Favorite Fantasy/Sci-Fi universes. 1
W_L Posted November 1, 2015 Posted November 1, 2015 I want to control a capital ship this time around, not just a tie fighter/X-wing. I've played a lot of battlefront throughout the years, it's command and control system have improved a lot. However, I wish they could do more with the canvas of SW universe. As a Sci-Fi fan, I started off on Star Trek, then Babylon 5, and then Star Wars. There's some really neat stuff in the expanded universe novels of Star Wars from Mara Jade's marriage to Luke Skywalker to the adventure of their son Ben Skywalker....Well I won't spoil the novels, but they are good. Problem with game developers, they compromise too much between graphical detail excellence and variety of plot elements. 1
Alex Posted November 1, 2015 Author Posted November 1, 2015 All of that is very true. I'm not to sure on the controlling a capital ship though, it would really stress capabilities and I'm not to sure how it would work out. Even today there are limits. One of those being, if it's not pretty most will overlook it. Which is very sad considering that graphics are mostly minuscule compared to story for me at least. Many want a pretty game with a good feel, a time burner. What I want them to accomplish with future Star Wars games is the level and depth of story achieved like games of the Mass Effect, Fallout, Dragon age, and elder scrolls series. In other words I want a Star Wars RPG with exciting adventures, action, and an in depth story that drags you in. BattleFront will be another one of those games where story doesn't matter, and as long as I'm having fun I'll be happy. And not for an enjoyable in depth story.
Site Administrator Myr Posted November 10, 2015 Site Administrator Posted November 10, 2015 Star Wars The Old Republic, the MMO that is a few years old and now free to play, is made by Bioware and is an outstanding Star Wars RPG. I've played nearly the whole thing single player surrounded by others doing the same. http://www.swtor.com/ It has 8 huge, fully voiced stories. (the game set the record for most recorded dialog ever.) I did pre-order Battlefront and I enjoyed the beta. I'll play it as well as the pile of other games that came out. 1
Abreitba07 Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 I'm very much looking forward to this game. I've played nearly every Star Wars game ever made, and I hope this one lives up to the hype. 2
James Bond007 Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 The new game! Yes I will be playing it day one! I will be playing it on my Xbox One 1
Site Administrator Myr Posted November 15, 2015 Site Administrator Posted November 15, 2015 I've been playing it on Xbox One. I'm a member of EA Access.. we get 10 hours free play time before it's out. As you can see, I have a couple of achievements in Battlefront already 1
