  1. Just because it's on Wikipedia doesn't mean that someone else didn't originally steal that photo and post it on there. That website is rife with bad data because anyone can post to it and not have to verify sources, technically. I'm not calling out any names, just reminding all members that images have owners too. Not everyone is okay with it being shared, unless it's purchased.

  2. Hello Spider Enthusiasts. I just went through hundreds of posts and way too many images and graphics (jokes, comics, etc...) that were violating copyright to count. They were removed, in case you were wondering. If you didn't take it, didn't buy it, didn't ask permission (and get it) to post it, and the image isn't considered fair use, please don't use pictures on GA moving forward. That includes specific spider images, infographics, copying of page data, etc... from other websites. This is stealing, just as if someone took someone's stories or parts of stories from here. You can be held liable if you copy/use images that are under copyright, especially if they are ones being used by artists/websites to make money.

This took up way too much of my time as well, so please help me help you. Link to videos, link to images, link to websites. Make sure it's fair use. Thank you!

  3. I've done a few interviews with Myr, but this is the most recent/the only complete one left in existence in the last 5-6 years.

I also fall into Xennial (along with my hubby who is a '77). It's a weird switch. I remember learning to type on a typewriter, formatted floppy disks and aligned paper reams to the dot matrix, had AOL and Myspace on our *gasp* home computer I bought at 20, flip phones and slides before the first smartphones came out... I'm infinitely more adaptable to technology than my hubby, but also far more likely to just sit and read quietly. He does so love to be chatting with friends on his phone, playing angry birds on his ipad, and watching YouTube videos on the TV because he's always "bored" at home. :P

  4. Look in your screenshot next to the tab for Step One where it says Step 2, 3, 4. You must complete all the steps properly before you can save. Click on those tabs to switch to those pages to fill in the story submission metadata.

Also, please make sure you check out all the FAQs for authors. You should have been directed to them when you purchased (free) Author status but you can always find them in the FAQ through the Help tab. There is a step by step guide to posting a story, how to add a chapter, formatting tips, content rules, info on the moderation queue, etc ... that we really recommend all new authors read.

  5.  All authors are directed to send me a PM if they have been waiting longer than 24 hours. The help forum is for technical questions, not personal moderation. We tend to keep that private, even if it's just something like story and chapter approvals.

  6. Using uncategorized as the selected fandom and naming/crediting the fandom/original works in your description like you did absolutely works.

  7. Hello Lisa,

Due to EU and some states online regulations, Mature content does require members to sign in to read. You just need to sign in once in the same browser window and not log out if you wish to continue to visit other areas of the site or multiple stories. At log in, you can also check the box to save your log in info if you are using a personal device and it is safe for you to do so.  Are you using an Incognito browser or have your browser settings set to log you out if you navigate away from websites? Otherwise you should not be having this issue as GA does not require members to sign in multiple times unless you choose to do so. I hope that helps!

  8. What Myr is referring to is that our Stories Archive automatically creates a copyright notice for content posted to the archive. Therefore if you are including images that were AI generated to your story, that could be interpreted as adding those under your copyrighted content. I always recommend that only images authors own (self-created, purchased rights, or creative commons) are added to Stories content, with no AI generated images directly added to your stories archive content (cover art/banners). If you want to use those images you can put them in the gallery and then link to your album. It is a workaround that avoids any legal complications.

Seems as long as you pick one from each section, it works. If all your choices are on top, or bottom, it says the other field is required.

If you want all 3 of your choices to be in one selection, please vote by adding yours in a comment and tagging me with an @ so I can "manually" adjust the vote at the end. Thanks for the heads up!
