  1. Variety is the spice of life!
  2. Hi And be welcome Alberto! There are a lot of really great people around here. I'm in Virginia near Washington DC in the USA. I write for our younger brothers and sisters that don't have a lot written specifically for them. I like to give them hope and help them burn off those pesky hormones. I hope you'll enjoy yourself here. I am addicted to Mark Arbours HMS Bridgemomt series. I highly recommend it as it's woven into history very well. And Spain is a big part of it. Cheers!
  3. There has not been a lot of comment or speculation on the last chapter. Perhaps it's the season? Everyone is gearing up for a great holiday. Happy Holidays my friends.
  4. You're welcome for all the welcomes!
  5. Sounds like we all need to jump in our cars and head for Michigan!
  6. That phrase always fascinated me. If his butt is wet and cold then what's he doing in the well? It's dug! I mean I'm assuming it must be wet or why would the focus be there? Like Colder than a well diggers ears? Or maybe ankles? Flush Rimbaugh says, "words mean things."
  7. Thanks both of you. I'll invite a mod to delete this thread then. I looked before creating but it mush have been hiding.
  8. Welcome! Lots of Aussies here. You guys talk funny but are completely amusing. Be welcome! G'day!
  9. The search for something special brings Win to the streets, he finds a protector to aid in his quest.
  10. I LOVE the smell of xebec's in the morning! What a great chapter Mark. And as usual, totally unique tactics. Well done. I think I would have kept a small group of them alive and force them to take Lady Elgin with them. I think they would have jumped off the ship and faced the sharks after only a few hours with her. A great Chapter Mark and a great surprise. Thank you so very much! r
  11. SWEEEET! Thanks Mark!
  12. Happy Thanksgiving friends.
  13. Be welcome! We are delighted that you have found your way to us. Welcome home and welcome to the family.
  14. An excellent chapter Mark and well worth the wait. Now we'll have to scour wiki to try and discern what adventures he'll be sailing her into. Lady Elgin will spend no time delaying the vexing of Mr Clifton I am sure. I wonder how he'll deal with her. Comstock was a welcome diversion. Nice to see a merchant put in his place. It might have been more pleasurable to have him placed in irons for the trip, after all, a new captain will have to be found upon completion of their trip. But in the end Lady Elgin will bear the brunt of the actions as Captain Comstock will not be pleased that she lead him to that position and men like him seldom take responsibility for their bad choices. So he's likely to lay it on her head as much as is possible to make a woman responsible for his misguided judgement. Perhaps on the voyage ahead her husband will show the set he's grown and kept hidden. So ye history buffs, where are we headed? What battles lay ahead?

    Chapter 24

Well done Mark. This departure will ensure that Granger does not need to disrupt the bank's opportunities by discovering the smuggling. And even though the bank bares his name, when it is discovered he will still be immune to the scandal. Poor Mr Clifton having to exist under the lady Elgin annoyance, but such is the privilege of rank!
