. "a Class By Himself 26"

Oh and Cosmie. It seems you downloaded that sample audio chapter 73 times. Was it that good that you had to keep going back for more? I have all the rest if you wan them. And this latest one too. Just say the word and I'll post the download links for you. Cheers, r -
An awesome chapter. Derrick needs to find out what is wrong with Mitch. eh? A great chapter opening up even more possibilities. Absolutely love this story Cosmie. You have set it up for so much in the ways of possible directions. That alone is a skill that leaves the readers in angst wondering if they will step off the fine line of safe. Much more to say but I'll do that in the forum! Well done. And thanks so much. You made my day.

What a fantastic chapter Cosmie. Gawd I just love your style. And so much meat in this chapter about future possibilities. It's obvious that Tanner is really working up to coming out to his family. Been thinking about it and with that class of folks if he does it privately he will probably be shipped off to a boarding screwl with the belief he'll out grow it and forget about the trinket he calls his boyfriend. And that way their society friends wouldn't find out. So the only way to do it is to do it publicly in a way that there would be no doubt to anyone. That is a bit scarey in itself. Then there is Chris and his dad's restaurant business. Chris may do it but then at what cost? Will he lever it into getting what he wants? Will she get the job and then find herself to be the lever of blackmail for her son's affections? Would she walk away from it rather then let that happen or would she facilitate it liking the money and the freedom? Or would Tanner use one of her catering gigs to come out by kissing her son in the middle of some wedding or something? Sheesh, your stuff can get complex Cosmie. Then there is the kiss on the bus. Sure it was a public bus, but were there any other screwl kids on that bus? Sitting behind them perhaps where they couldn't be seen? The boys are getting careless. Or is it that they are getting to where they want the world to find out? Oh and the kiss the driver saw when he pulled up to pick Tanner up. Was there anyone else in the car and Tanner just wasn't saying anything? Perhaps his dad? We know how mom feels about Derrick, but not a word from Dad so far. Will he be a voice of reason? It's always possible Tanner's mom could surprise him and be tired of the society crap and could find herself having fun with Derricks mom. Wouldn't that be a twist. Tanner said it himself, she lacks passion for anything. Who knows where this could go. Cosmie is known for going full steam into a sudden left turn. All I know is this story is one of his very best love stories. Thanks Cosmie. I can't wait for more to speculate on. You rock. -

Wow, it's an interesting history. A lot of old money floating around that many had access to. referencing the secret service "fund" so to speak. And really no way to verify the credentials other then his orders. So what caused the Pitt Ministry to fall? Was it an event or a series of circumstances? It appears that, though a party may be intrenched a well timed scandal could uproot a party. So things are both solidly rooted but also very fragile at the same time. So have you any idea where the story is going with the prince? It's unusual to have a foreign dignitary involved in the story unless he is significant. So is there anything historical that would match up with where the story is heading? I mean it's been three chapters since he joined and not a peep out of him. I confess, I'm obsessed with finding out. Since we are still in his part of the world it is probably something in the short term.

Thank you Westie, as always a wealth of information. I knew East India Company was powerful but I never knew they had THAT much power. The thought of a company with so much power, in essence the power of the crown fluid and mobile is almost scary. When you say they could build an army are we talking uniformed and proper? Would they have uniforms of the royal services or unique? and when they were no longer needed would they be absorbed by the royal services or disbanded? And the ability to mint coin, that's quite a statement. Would these coins be the same as the realm or would they also be unique? Sounds like a collector's holy grail. It's easy to see how corruption could be rampant and scenario's just like this could easily be a reality. And because so many powerful people were involved and would benefit directly from it, it could easily be overlooked buried or just ignored. Did the crown actually have a secret service at this time? I could see where Daventry could be party to both, the crown and the EIC. I'm not sure why but I just don't trust the character. I don't trust Lord Spencer either. He's obviously in the guilds pocket. His endorsement should flag Daventry as suspect immediately. Just sayin'

That's the great thing about being an author, even a mediocre one, you can claim poetic license. lol

Hi Mark, Another great chapter. Quite a haul. NO value was set but two chests would be quite a bit. Probably difficult to place a value on gems and so many different currencies but I'm sure when they get back we'll find out. Nice save and planning for the return trip. So much duplicity and greed in corruption. I guess some things never change. It will be interesting to see how this intrigue plays out. I wonder if anything afloat is aware of the chests. It would seem the one eyed priest would have a backup plan if the first failed unless he underestimated them. Another thing to ponder is can this be unraveled before the next step is due to be committed? It would seem the guild has vast resources and the price on Granger's head could be very high indeed. And since the threat is going to be dressed in finery they won't be easy to spot. It could even put Granger's family at risk. Hostage taking was not uncommon back then. And the Guild is certainly going to take a hit over this one financially. I find that with the riches and power that they have there certainly has to be more then just merchants and merchant class involved. So will it be Bertie or Freddie or Davina mixed in with this lot? Westie, is the Guild a real part of history or a fabrication of the story? And if a reality can you give us something on it? No spoilers of course but just more? And the Prince . . . Well he's learning to be a midshipman I guess. I wonder who HE is teaching what? And how will he play into the story? Is he a bit player? Unlikely, is he in this part of the story intrigue or just there to be key in some other portion of the story? Perhaps the Governor who was supposed to accompany him was part of this plot and the Prince foiled it without realizing he was. And if that was the case, was it the King and Queen complicit or a fabrication of the Governor. Will Jardenes know they have absconded with the prize by the time Granger stops back? Will he try and intervene? Will the prince have done his storily duty by their return or does he have more to do? So many possibilities and so little to go on. One thing is for certain, Lord Arbour is certainly not giving anything away on this one. But we need a good battle. Nothing brings the crew back into shape like blowing a few things up.

Hello David and welcome. You're a writer! Awesome. Can't wait to see what Genre you write. You're gonna love it here. Lot's of young ones your age. Hmmm lot's of old guys my age too. Come to think of it, we have a lot in between too. Go figure. So what is your genre? I write stories for young love that gives them hope. If you've not read Comicalities stuff you are really in for a treat. He is one of the very best period. Mark Arbour has one series that is swashbuckling British Naval that is flat addicting. He is a favorite of mine. He weaves it into history so if you like that genre check out his HMS series. It follows the life of George Granger a 14 year old midshipman to start with. Cosmie writes love stories too as well as a vampire series. The guy is amazing. Be welcome, be happy and dig in.

A Brilliant Chapter! Daventry is going to make things very interesting indeed. I am somewhat concerned however over Spencer's endorsement. We know Spencer is in league with the guild. How much we do not know, but he is as evidenced by his actions. Will this play out that Daventry is a double agent? Will he find a way to abscond with the funds? Will he actually complete the mission for the guild? Nothing was said about Cavendish's correspondence other then the gossip. Was there more? And what will the new orders say? The ones they will receive with the prize money? And what if the priest with one eye has fallen to some other plot? Again, nothing about the new price. He is a wild card. No one is added to the crew without some story benefit. So where does he fit in? These last few chapters have been different in that there has been very little crew involvement. It's been Granger and his interactions with extraneous or temporary characters. The crew is due for some action.

A great chapter Mark! A lot of meat in this one. So the Sultan was misinformed as well. Imagine my surprise. It's a good thing that all these other things had occurred or his word may not have been as welcomed or honored. And SO glad they are away from that place and lady Elgin. I'm eager to see why the plot was not shared with Lord Elgin. And of course eager to see what is afoot. It sounds like Lord Granger will be recruited into His Majesty's Secret Service. And he's about to gain favor with the next King. I better check to see when this one croaked. Perhaps someone can enlighten me? Was glad to see the prince get some mention. And the two men in the gunroom instead of in with the wardroom? Interesting. That would put them in with the prince as well. The next chapter should prove very enlightening. Well done Mark.
