Thanks for the review. Originally I posted the series in "Book" format but as each one are around 80,000 words keeping track of where you were in the story was a but of a pain for people. Here's the link to the Book page. Right now only the first two are posted. After I finish posting the next (last) chapter of the first book I'll put up the third. Thanks again and take care. http://www.gayauthors.org/story/jmh/thecenturioncycle

Chapter Fifteen: The Commandant After leaving the weapons shop, Erik led the party back home, driving the wagon while the boys walked beside it. Gerick was waiting for them at the gate and started unloading the wagon as soon as it stopped. Alex went upstairs and changed into a pair of shorts and a clean white shirt to head over to the gymnasium. He asked Jason if he wanted to go, but Jason’s arms were still sore from handling the iron staff so he excused himself and went to his room. He was ju

Chapter Six: Ambush Jumping up with a start, Harry found himself lying in the back of a military truck bouncing along a jungle road. “I don’t know how much more of this I can take.” He sighed as he sat up. “Travis has to sleep too Harry. It can’t be helped that his dreams enter your mind.” “If his dreams were in anyway pleasant, I wouldn’t mind.” He ran his hands through his unwashed oily hair. “We’ll be at the next airstrip soon.

Chapter Five: The Colonel “Well General?” Two hours later as Thad stood behind a one way mirror looking into the interrogation room where Emily was being questioned. “We’ve checked with Homeland Security, the CIA, and the FBI, none claim knowing Dr. Walker was in the country.” “And the NSA?” ` “NSA is giving us the usual runaround. If they know anything they’re not about to tell us. Harry Winters, however, we do know something about. It s

Glad you like it so far. It will be a while before things start to come into focus but when it does it will be a shocker. Take care and keep up the reviews. Thanks

Patrick sat in a far corner of the bar watching his target from a distance. Wearing one of his many faces and hisfavorite deep purple dress, he watched with a bemused smile the clumsy, nervousbehavior of the other man and the lusty overconfidence of his companion. "Behave yourself brother." Patrick smirked between sips of his sparkling wine. Patrick knew he should have told Steve days ago that the man he was spending so much time spying on was the same man his brother

Thanks for the comment. In the Nano Wars series the fate of Jason plays a key role but Jason himself is only a minor character. This second cycle deals more with the lives of his descendents... children, grandchildren ect... who find themselves taking up their father's fight against those who threaten the people of Ares. Hope this helps.

Chapter Four: Flight: At exactly eight o’clock, Harry heard the doorbell to his house ring. Tobias, who had followed him home like a lost puppy, jumped over the back side of the sofa. “I’ll get it.” Harry was trying his best to stay calm. When he opened the front door he saw it… the face he had prayed he would never see again. It was all he could do not to slam the door and run upstairs to hide. “Dr. Walker.” “Come now Harry… you know better to call me that.”

It was around 2:00 AM when Jacob dragged himself home. As he headed up the stairs of the apartment complex he saw the lights were on and shadows could be seen moving behind the curtains. He hovered behind the door for several minutes not sure what he could say to his sister. Finally deciding he would have to wing it like he had done everything else this long day, he put his key into the lock only to have the door jolted open. "Where have you been? I tried to call you all afternoon."

Chapter Fourteen: The Weapon Smith While the law bans the use of weapons by Famulus, nothing prevents them from forging them. In fact, some of the finest weapons are not made by Centurions, but by their servants. So is the balance of power maintained. Melkior: First High Ambassador Jason, drunk for the first time in his life, had to be handed down to Alex at the ladder. Together, Kristen, Alex, and Jonathan took Jason downstairs to the small bath on the first floor. The room was always

Thanks for the comment. This was an old story I wrote before DADT was abolished. Forgot to change that part of the tale when I decided I would post it. My bad.

If to save mankind will you give up on those you love? Will they give up on you?

Chase walked out of the Thai restaurant on Massachusetts Street near the University of Kansas campus when he noticed that everyone nearby were either talking on their cell phones or were looking up at the sky with fear. Seeing his friend Mike looking up as if the sky was about to fall upon him he went towards him. “What’s up?” “You mean you haven’t heard?” Mike said, his face pale. “Almost every major city in the world is gone… what’s left of the government is

Josh invited Robert to the wedding even though he knew Robert would not come. It would be too painful for both of them if he came and they both knew it. Josh only made the gesture to make sure Robert would not feel left out. He also did it to help remove his feelings of guilt. He failed miserably on both counts. Robert celebrated Josh's wedding by drinking himself into a stupor and crying. At the moment he knew the ceremony was to begin he smashed his glass against the wall. If he had

Chapter Thirteen: The Legatio and the Famulus Tired from exercise and the baths, Jason quickly fell onto his bed when he entered his room. Kristen followed after him, carrying a cot. After placing what would be his bed at the foot of Jason’s, Kristen began to undress his tired master. He first took off his sandals and placed them under the bed. Then he lifted Jason as if he were a rag doll and lifted his white shirt off before helping Jason get under the sheets. “Were you always a Fam

Joshua woke with a sudden start to find Gerick's eyes staring down at him. It was a power filled look... a hungry look. "Gerick..." Between heavy breaths Gerick answered. "His lust was your lust... his power reflected yours... His lust is now my lust... his power my own!" "Gerick?" Joshua said... feeling fear growing inside him. "I went to see Vard... to save him from his madness, to save you. You were right... Vard was on the verge of insanity but now his madness is inside me." "What can

Chapter Three: End of Exile Three years before the birth of Avery Winters Seeing her boss exit the elevator, Samantha jumped up from her desk in an attempt to intercept him before he could reach his office. “Mr. Winters…” “Yes Samantha?” Harry Winters was startled by the panic on her face. “Are you sure you’re feeling well sir… maybe you should call in sick today?” She said darting her eyes to his office door. “What’s going on Samanth

Chapter Twelve: The Famulus As soon as they arrived home, Jason ran back to the kitchen and started pouring flour into a mixing bowl. Philip, his hands on his waist, gave Jason a serious stare. “What do you think you are doing? “Making bread for the Famulus,” Jason said, not aware of Philip’s warning look. “Jason, the period of morning is over, the markets have been open for days now. The Famulus do not need you to bake their bread for them.” “But...” Jason protested weakly, his face alread

Thanks for the review. The sort of isolation Daryl is enduring is both within himself and from those who abandoned him. It'll get more complex later on as we see deeper into his past. Thanks again

Steve does seem to have his own motives... a cross between lust and hero worship.

Chapter 4 Arriving at Dr. Gavin's address Steven was surprised, after all he had heard, to find that it was a significantly large place in a very well-to-do neighborhood. The front lawn, while devoid of the colorful flowers and pruned bushes that marked the other houses, was well kept. Daryl's car, parked in the driveway, seemed out of place. Not that it was a rusty bucket of bolts. It was that it was a Honda Accord at least two models, maybe three models old, with the old boxy design. Wi
