    Chapter 15

The next day… Joshua and Brail assumed it was day… the door to their cell opened automatically letting in a dim florescent light. Joshua climbed off his Protector and began putting on his prison uniform. Outside his cell he could hear the sound of heavy machinery as the convicts went back to work expanding the shaft. Joshua made to leave his cell but was stopped when Brail's arm took hold of him. “Don’t go out there,” he warned. “What’s wrong?” Joshua asked as he tried to peer past the open

    Part Nine: Alteration

There was a bit of a mix up with the names. In that chapter Landon is really meant to be Andrew. As for Landon himself you will just need to wait and see. It will still be a bit of a while before he reveals himself. As for the slice of cake he gave Aaron... consider it more of a vaccine against the Coven Virus the other children got when they ate the Master's cake. As for who Andrew is. He is the second son of Lord Oliver, head of the Order. His older brother is Gregory Balthazar, headmaster of the Lakes School for the Gifted. His connection to Aaron is that like him Andrew was once the prisoner of the Coven. Unlike Aaron however Andrew didn't have someone like Landon looking out for him. He does carry the virus and for that reason is seen as and outcast among his people. By now you know everything is not quite what it seems. Aaron's origins will not be revealed for a very long time and even then the details will trickle out tiny bits at a time. Again, thanks for the review. I hope to hear more of what you think in future chapters.
  3. Chapter Twelve: Jackpot Karl looked about the hotel room and wondered how he had gotten himself into this mess. Since gaining control of the Double Dozen his sex drive had hit the roof, not just with men but women as well. Proof of that lay with the dozens of naked bodies around him. What disturbed him most were the women who were clearly in the latter stages of accelerated pregnancies. Feeling hard flesh slide up next to him he saw Trey looking at him doe-eyed. “What are your orders

    Part Nine: Alteration

Thanks. Glad you're still enjoying things. We are about to reach the 1/3rd point in the story so things are indeed heading towards a mini-climax. In the next two chapters malicious ghosts from the past will reveal themselves and change Aaron's life forever.
  5. Chapter Nine: Alteration “You bring a strange boy to my house telling me to let you two take care of my boy. Then this happens!” “What happened tonight has nothing to do with them. He was in the wrong place at the wrong time, nothing more. If anything you should thank me for having them watch out for him.” “Yes… quite fortuitous don’t you think? A bunch of drug addicts get it into their heads to try to ra…” She choked up, unable to say the word. “I should be grateful but I know better
  6. The next chapter has now been posted. In this one Aaron is introduced to Anderson's supposed girlfriend Talia. She can be as sweet as sugar or as caustic as concentrated acid. As Anderson is a shoe in for homecoming king he somehow manages to talk Aaron into attending the football game and watch as he is crowned. As Aaron and Talia watch the game, Jon, ever present watches from the shadows. This one is a pretty violent chapter and sets the stage for the next several that will follow. Have any questions or comments feel free to post. JMH
  7. Chapter Eight: The Game Over the days that followed Andrew displaced those atop the school’s social hierarchy. It didn’t take too long for him to learn that Aaron was at the very bottom of it. With his goggle like dark glasses and sliver white hair he stuck out like a sore thumb. His shy demeanor and thin skin didn’t help matters much either. That left Andrew in quite a bind. Dr. Harris wanted him to gain the trust of the other students but hanging around Aaron was so socially toxic i

    Chapter 7

Thanks for pointing that out to me. Seemed that I got a couple of chapters mixed up (problem of posting chapters in groups rather than one at a time) but have now fixed it. Glad you're enjoying the series. Working on so many different series at the same time I'm luck if I don't get the names mixed up. Tempted to do an index of characters. The problem is how do I post it without giving away much of the story. Thanks again and take care.

    Chapter 7

Five Years Later: Chapter Eight: Sun Gardens The Prime Heir looked about his court and sighed. Today was his eighteenth birthday yet he found himself with no desire to celebrate. The gifts sent from each province were the richest yet but what use was gold and jewels to the second wealthiest man in the world. He had even lost interest in his sex slaves. While the men and women were often fairer than him, there were only so many variations one could enjoy. There was also the fac
  10. Hello folks. Setting up this thread to be the discussion page for my newest series: Fallen. It is meant to be a true horror series with all the blood and gore to go along with it. I'm hoping to make it a three book series. Each book will be around 100k in length and and cover a length of time of several decades. As with any long series I've written there is going to be a mountain high list of characters. If anyone has an interest in my writing up an index please let me know and I will get to work on it right away. As people who've read my works before know there will be subplots within the main plot. They also know that my main character go through a bit of hell in order to be with the guy they love most. The same is true for this series. In this series the main character, Aaron starts off as a traumatized child. Kidnapped as an infant he witnessed something so horrifying that it left him unable to interact with the outside world. As he grows older showing no sign of improvement his grandmother fears she will have to institutionalize him. Only by random chance he meets someone who knows more about him then he does himself. Jon, a student at a special school for the gifted, knows Aaron has a secret and is dying to find out what it is. He has a secret of his own as well and is waiting for the perfect time to share it. So far I have the final drafts of the first 32 chapters all written up so I hope to post 2 chapters a week so they'll be coming out pretty fast. If you like the series or have any suggestions please feel free to write on the thread and tell me what you think. I promise I don't bit. It's going to be a pretty long one so there should be plenty to discuss. Link to the first book is below. https://www.gayauthors.org/story/JMH/thetalentsofthefallen Take care and enjoy JMH

  12. Chapter Seven: Birthday Boy “Balloons, check” “Party hats, check” “Piñata in the tree, check.” “Candles, check” “Chocolate cake with raspberry crème, check.” “Sushi platter, check.” “Birthday boy, check.” Though Aaron had not been thrilled by the idea of inviting so many people Mary had taken a shotgun view of the situation. Send out enough invitation and at least a few would show up. In the end only three people showed up. One was Shelly and her son F

    Part Ten

Chapter Twenty Last Chance The men of the fleet did not fully understand why their Admiral had ordered them to abandon Aquanos to the Centurions, only that the hated Inquisitors had accused many of their popular officers of heresy. If they were not rescued, they would be burned at the stake in front of the Church of the Mother, in Meltor. The navy, unlike the land-based army, was a tight knit community made up of sailors whose families had served in the fleet for
  14. Hey. Thanks for the review. Glad you like things so farHave just finished writing the second draft of the last four chapter. If things stay the same there's going to be 32 chapters with an epilogue. Already busy working on the outline of the next 'book' in the series. Haven't decided on a title yet and not sure where it will leave me but if I get favorable views with the first book will keep on going. I'm hoping to have around three 'books' in total for the entire series but that really depends on feedback and how much free time I have available. (And if I end up with a bad case of writers block lol) You take care and thanks again for your feedback.
  15. Thanks for all the reviews. Accidently made a stupid mistake and used the wrong name in the six chapter. Dr. Balthazar's brother is Andrew, not Landon. Sorry about the mix up.
  16. Chapter Six: The Headmaster Once back at Lakes, Jon left Sam behind to meet with the headmaster. He didn’t want there to be any witnesses to what he might say to the head of the school. He already had a bad enough of a reputation for mouthing off. He was ready to burst into his office when he found the way blocked by Dr. Balthazar’s pet goon. “Out of my way Ryan.” “May I ask what business you have with the headmaster?” Ryan Harper might be an Untalented but he
  17. Chapter Five: Chance Meeting Eight years has passed since Mary Mays fled Canada to the States with Aaron in tow. During those years Mary had figured out some of Aaron’s quirks. He didn’t like loud noises, bright lights, and anything made of flesh, blood, or bones. He would eat fish which is why she planned to get sushi for his birthday party. She didn’t know if the other kids would like it but she was sure Aaron would. What did worry her was that no one would show up. Due
  18. For me I ended up depressed at a very early age. Got to the point when I couldn't remember when I felt different. Of course being in elementary school feeling abandoned and hated it is very hard not to assume being so unhappy is normal or well deserved. Wasn't allowed to eat with the family let alone be in the same room as them. They blamed me for everything. Made every good deed or accomplishment into some monstrous crime. Got to the point that I tried to end my life when I was 12. To help protect myself I develop an iron hard shell to separate myself from the rest of the world. Made it very hard for me to try to make friends. Even when people saw me as a good friend it was and still is very hard for me to accept. By the time I went to college I assumed that the rest of the world would treat me with the same contempt as my family. Spent those four years going weeks without saying so much as a word. Eventually suffered a psychotic breakdown that put me in the hospital for five months. The meds can be hard to deal with. The docs pretty much select them by random and see how they affect you. Taken years before coming up with the right combination that doesn't leave me a zombie or in a state where I cannot feel my true emotions... such as wanting to cry only for the drugs to not let you fall that far. Still tinker with the meds even after all these years. I hate having to take them but I also know remember the physically destructive harm I was doing to myself before I was on them. Still battling my demons. PTSD and night terrors leaves me pretty much an insomniac. Thing though have gotten better over the last few years. I not as bad as I was trying to be a people pleaser to point where I don't take proper care of myself. Still hard to accept compliments and understand I do have people in my life who see me as a good friend but I'm getting there. Anyway, at least in my case I don't think I will ever be free of depression. Just hope to get to the point where it doesn't have total control over my life.
  19. I don't know... loved Space Balls. j/k
  20. Chapter Four: The Passing of the Madness Mary sat on her rocker her eyes on the TV while her fingers busied themselves knitting. Since the tragedy in New Brunswick she had not been able to change the channel from CBC-NEWS. “So many children… so many deaths.” What had first been reported as a tragic fire that had consumed a private boys’ school the authorities were now reporting to be the main compound of a death cult. Though it had been a week since the fire the military was still d

Chapter Eighteen Transformations Aidan did not know how long he was in the tank with Dorian. As the room was underground, he didn't know if it was night or day. Every time he opened his eyes, Dorian was there to smile back at him. Then the end finally came and the purple fluid began to drain from the tank. Aidan, his body covered with a film of the remaining thick fluid, felt extremely weak. Looking down at his body, Aidan saw he had lost considerable weight, som
  22. Chapter Three: Escape into the Nightmares As Landon lay on the pile of furs the Master went to his desk. From a locked drawer he pulled out a curved knife. He held the knife out to Landon with both hands. “Master?” “You said you are willing to do anything. Take this knife and kill the other six.” “The other six Proctors?” “Yes… they are your true enemies. After all only one of you can become one of my Chosen.” “But that would be…” “Murder… since when has that ever been a problem fo
  23. Yes, this is really meant as a true horror story. Not sure of some people understand that when they start reading. That is why I've been putting the chapter descriptions for each part. I've just finished the first 'book' of the series and am about half way through the second. Believe it or not but did the first 100k in a week and a half. As for Aaron and Landon their fates is quite intertwined. Landon has good reasons why he is trying to protect Aaron and not all of them are as well intending as they first might seem to be. The next chapter is probably one of the most gruesome one that will be in the series but it is not without reason. What happens next will forever change Aaron and affect him for the rest of his life. Stay tuned
  24. Chapter Two: The Master’s Favorite The light was painfully bright, so much so that Aaron quickly covered his eyes with both hands. “The shades, god damn it!” Landon shouted. Hal rushed past the bed to the set of barred floor to ceiling windows and pulled the curtains down. “The glasses too.” He pointed to the case on the dresser. Hal handed them dark goggle like sunglasses. Carefully he pulled Aarons hands away from his eyes and slipped the glasses on. “You can open your eyes now.”

    Part 2

It wasn't that the couldn't swim is was that they were weighed down by the armor. All the battles on the island is to stress that while the Centurion are great warriors they are not invincible. At sea Jadoor is the main power... sort of like the British Empire they have better ships and more experienced sailors. In Domus they have only one major port city Aquanos and most of their wars have been on land against the Eastern Confederacy. The Centurions might have no equal on land but at sea it is the quality of the ship and captain that decides battles. The Centurion are just not good at it. I also set up the battle of Eb to show how incompetent Field Marshal Lukas is. He has let his desire for revenge overcome common sense. The whole battle is based on a real battle between Sparta and Athens from which the Centurions and Jadoorians are modeled after. During one of their wars the Sparta's found themselves trapped on an island besieged by the Athenian fleet. Like the Centurion on the island of Eb the Spartans were no match against the Athens fleet. In the end most of them died of starvation while waiting to be ransomed. Anyway... hope that helps. Thanks again.
