    Chapter 4

Very cool chapter. I hope Will stays as a narrator in this story, because we need someone in the 'Bu to keep us up to date on the goings on down there. I hope we get to see the river trip.
  2. The day I graduated from Berkeley (actual last final not the ceremony) my roommate and I went to Trader Vic's and ordered one of everything on the exotic drink menu and finished them all. I think we got 8 or 9 glasses in various shapes and bowl to keep. I would not recommend this. Trader Vic's Drink Menu
  3. Scotty McHottie singing the First Noel. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6PDdMlGtA1A
  4. Paul Rudick betrays his age, it should be Kristin Chenowith and Hugh Jackman, not Patty Lupone and Mandy Patinkin. Patty and Mandy were the original stars of Evita when it first opened on Broadway in the late 70's. Mandy is now the star of Homeland on TV and was one of the stars on Criminal Minds. Patty is still on Broadway and won her second Tony (Evita being the first) in 2008 for Gypsy. I am a 15 and if you don't have the Internet Broadway Database as a favorite on your browser, you can't be anything above a 19.
  5. Oh please.... as if anyone at Stanford cares about the hockey team or playing it makes you a BMOC. Stanford's winning athletic programs are the water polo team, swim team, tennis and golf and even those guys don't get props for the national championships they win. Stanford is chock full of Olympians and they get scant attention. The best water polo player in the country was there, star of the US Men's National Team and hardly anyone knew who he was. Football is getting some attention now, but back in 2000-01 they were fair to middling. They'd have one good year followed by a mediocre year and there was as much anti-football sentiment among the undergrads as there was pro-football. Cal was the same way, it was cool to find football "brutal and bourgeois" . I know guys who are still "sowing wild oats" and my parents do too. The guys who never grew up and are now in the mid 50's and on wife #3 and family #2. By the time I was a junior I was ready to get out and as a senior, I couldn't imagine I had ever been as bad/immature as the freshmen and sophomores were. Matt comes from good stock though and I suspect he'll straighten out. Whether or not he does that in time to keep his relationship with Wade is a different topic. But remember the gay/bi community isn't the straight community. You don't have unlimited opportunities for relationships with quality, serious people. Finding that serious, committed guy is a lot harder and after you have dated a couple of schmucks, that "boring" ex starts to look pretty good.

    Chapter 3

There wasn't enough drama in that chapter. I'd have made Carl Haupt, Carl Hauptmann, great grandson of Bruno Hauptmann.
  7. Ummm.... in the poll topic, "For the following choices, sex with a woman is defined as penile penetration of the vagina. Please choose the option that best describes you:"
  8. Not really qualified to answer as I am not gay, but a lot of my gay friends have had sexual encounters with women. My older friends (45+ or so) did it for a variety of reasons, my younger friends (<25) seem to do it out of curiosity. I would say about 1/3 of my gay friends never have and can barely even say the word vagina.
  9. Everyone on GA wants to be helpful, but I think there is no substitute for professional help. I think it is entirely possible for a sleeping/semi-sleeping man to be in a dream like state where he is having a same sex encounter and blurt out something that he would never act on in completely awake state. The issue here really seems to be your insecurity as to what it meant when he said what he said since as near as I can tell he hasn't been more distant in your relationship and things are going well. I don't think anyone on GA can take away that insecurity and give you the best way to approach him. That is why I would ask a professional.
  10. This is my father's and his mother's favorite Christmas song. It makes them quite misty eyed. I'll Be Home For Christmas
  11. This is a Canadian guy I stumbled across last year. Love the Elvis sound. http://www.youtube.com/user/DBTWENTYSIX?feature=watch#p/u/17/AXou6toYKMo
  12. Oh gawd at this stage JJ is a total wreck, addicted to Oxy he started taking when he was skating and he drinks too much because his skating career was never what he wanted. He's been to Passages Malibu more times than Nick Nolte, threw up on Will's husband, Alistair, at their wedding and lost Riley at the mall for six hours once......
  13. Three things, well four actually I guess. First, I really like the story, it is simple and sweet. But there were two things I found really odd. One was that Andy would stay in the guest room when staying over at Roger's. What kid does that? Especially with your neighbor. I always had my friends sleep in my bedroom with me, that is the whole point of a sleepover and I did the same at their houses. The other was giving Joey a stereo and talking about CD's. A what and what's?? I have barely even heard some say the words "stereo" and "CD's" for years. I could see if he had an old iPod lying around, but stereo?? And lastly, they KNEW Roger was coming back. I don't care how horny two teens are, they would have been acutely aware that their time was limited. Even if they came out to each other, and got busted at the hospital (twice, which I also found a little improbable given how paranoid you are at 14 about being found out/outed). So don't let the constructive criticisms cloud that I am enjoying the story.
  14. Okay, so admittedly I haven't followed this on a minute by minute basis, but I don't get why any one thinks he faked anything. He lives rather near my parents and the local paper has covered the story along with ABC and neither mentions that there was anything incorrect in the first video. OC Register: Lake Forest Teen Goes Viral Mother of Jonah Mowry I do think everyone has a responsibility to take matters into their own hands when they are being bullied. I can see in some parts of the country where a school administration might shrug at a gay kid, or any kid for that matter, being bullied, but not in coastal So Cal. The schools are very supportive of gay kids and have almost draconian programs against bullying, but you have to let someone know it is happening. Since he had been cutting himself from an early age my guess he has more problems than his sexuality and he needed to tell someone about what was going on in his life. And the "everyone has a responsibility" includes his friends. If his friends knew he was cutting, they didn't do him any favors by not telling an adult they trusted.
  15. I hope Wade and Matt are more like JP & Stef than Brad & Robbie, who needs THAT drama again. And while Matt might other men/boys now, eventually it gets old and you see the vacuousness of it if you any sense about you and I think Matt does. I am more intrigued by Darius' challenge to Will to close the deal with a girl. I'd love to see Will do some exploration with women/girls.
  16. Oh Krista, not all. If ever I was tempted to take the towels and the bathrobes, it would be from the Halekulani Hotel in Hawaii. They have the greatest towels I've ever used.
  17. Man, you wouldn't believe how many microwaves and coffee makers I have!! Acutally, I discovered a long time ago those little bottles of shampoo etc are pretty worthless. I do take the little sunscreens when I stay in hotels that have them as they can be useful and given how I tip the housekeepers they always seem to leave me extras.

    Chapter 2

Ah the dosier... this should be fun. I do hope I see a foreshadowing of Will trying to close the deal with a girl. At 14 he might or might not be completely gay, a little walk on the wild side could be a humbling experience. I always found any number of girls wanting to help me with my "confusion" as so many of them called it.
  19. These people aren't part of the Southern Baptist Convention which is what most people think of when they hear the word "Baptist". This is one of those tiny, crazy churches in KY which has a few including the snake handlers. Even in this small church, I think it has 40 families in it, the pastor has been dismissed and they are going to reconsider the vote. Please note the outcry from other religious leaders in KY about how outrageous they thought this church's action was. Please also note that the original vote to say that the church didn't condone interracial marriage was 9-6. The church's new pastor says they will vote again and he expects a different outcome this time. KY Church Pastor Seek Reversal The opinion of 15 people has become national and international news?
  20. Hey Colin, having been a conservative and a Republican at Cal, I am well aware of how they are treated.
  21. There are quite a few schools in the south that are supportive of their gay students, including Vanderbilt with it gay fraternity house. Austin, home of UT is a gay friendly city and UT itself is gay friendly. That isn't to say there can't be individual problems any place, but I don't think gays at UT have any more problems than Republicans and conservative do at Berkeley.
  22. I liked Jeanine early on when she was just Darius's nanny, less so as Will's mom or Tiffany's partner. I don't remember Tiffany's background, but I hope she doesn't cut off her nose to spite her face with Grand Mama Danfield. There are a lot of advantages that go with being a Tidewater Family. Yes with advantages comes responsibilities and some BS, but you put up with it because the pluses outweigh the minuses. I had to think for a minute who Cody even was. He hasn't been in the picture for a while, but hopefully we will see a bit more of where he is career-wise and some of the characters from the past, Jackie included. Maybe even have some cameos from Wolfgang Puck, Jim Cameron, Bryan Singer, Peter Jackson, etc.
  23. Not sure where you are doing your research, but in the world I live in the JD/MBA is seen as a very valuable asset. There is a reason Harvard, Yale, Chicago, Stanford, Cal, UCLA, U Penn, Columbia, Northwestern, Duke, USC, Michigan, Cornell and others offer it. There is a demand for it.

    Chapter 1

Well "paternity" is more than a test, it is the act of being a father too, but I still liked The Politician's Son better as a title
