  1. Awesome, someone in Taiwan. That's pretty cool. It's probably the area in Asia I have the second most interest in right now. As a non-native how'd you become interested in studying there? From what I've heard Taiwan U is pretty hard to get into, that's pretty impressive that you got in as a foreigner... and won a scholarship. wow. Well, I'm not really a member of the welcoming committe, but welcome anyway! It's always nice to have smart people joining us. You're a student working on a graduate thesis on homoerotic literature. How'd you decide to write your thesis on that topic? What's it like being a foreigner in Taiwan? I have some friends who are in the opposite position, Taiwanese studying in America. They have a hard time mainly with the language. Are you pretty well accepted? What's it like to be an American dating a Taiwanese guy? Is being gay accepted in Taiwanese culture? I'm looking forward to reading more! //shadows edit: Younger guys aren't all bad!

    I'm hungry.

Haha, now you can suffer with the rest of us. I say we create a band of rabble rousers, find Dom's house, break down the door and find his computer so we can read the stored chapters... You with me?! //shadows P.S. Food is good. We like food.
  3. Whoa... cool, I'm on that list. Don't tell me you trawled through the entire list of blog and forum posts to create that . Thanks, and I hope Dom continues in the new year. As it is, I'd rather give up the first day of Hannukah just to see a new DD chapter. //shadows To my fellow Dom fans, a Happy New Year!
  4. I think it's rather obvious that he's staying. I think there's a greater chance Dom will kill off Grandma Alice before he sent Rory back to her. Then again, it would be really interesting to see Rory's guilt trip over not talking to her before she died and Rory's dad visiting his home town. Also would be interesting to see the prejudice or lack thereof he faces... KILL GRANDMA ALICE! //shadows

    Good Ole Mrs. G

Whatever you do, the best of luck. The only "adult" that I'm out to is a former science teacher. They seem to be the best to come out to, more rational than the rest. I told her in an e-mail after she'd moved 2,000 miles away though lol. Whatever you do, just think through the repercussions and decide if you're ready for it. For me, it helps to know that there's somebody I can fall back on even if I have to ride a greyhound bus to seattle... //shadows Best of luck!
  6. Au contrair (or however you say it in french). Davey's life can only get better from here. Things have reached a resolution, rather than the empty feeling of not knowing where he stands or how others view him, he now has solid ground on which to make his decisions. I would much rather know I'm disliked than be unsure and have that undercurrent of enmity. Anyway, Davey and Brian look like they could at least get along from here. I am looking forward to what's coming next. Though I don't think it's the "action" that Trebs seems to think it is. Probably more like Davey taking out a team of ninjas //shadows

    This is hard

Hmmm. Rules and regulations are very annoying, but look at it this way. If you'd been on the team four years and had faithfully shown up at every meaning wouldn't you be kind of po'd if some freshmen replaced you? You could always try to be somebody's alternate or something or even try for "team mascot" if you're really desperate. Ah... I wonder do most gay guys focus on an object of intentions and then devote all their attention to observing him? I know I'm no better but I tend to switch around a lot (why not if they're never going to reciprocate anyway?). Is HCCG a senior? Or a freshmen like you? I don't know if you ever mentioned that. Is he gay? Oh... those crazy catholics No insults intended. Depending on how perverse you want to be Catholicism as a religion can be kind of fun if you're willing to step outside of it and view it in an unbiased manner. Whenever I'm forced to sit through a mass I view the ceremony as an anthropologist. "How curious, they all rise like a group of sheep at a signal from one man..." or similar perversions of the gospels are constantly on my mind. Or less offensively, just think of it as a way to view history. Chances are your ancestors chanted the same prayers, sang the same songs and ate the same bread. It's a way of identifying with the past and if your children (if you choose to have them) have children, the future. Also, generally the sermon is there for you to think about. Dwell on it, what does it mean? Can you see its effect on society? Do people follow it? Or are they merely empty words practiced in your community? Mass is only boring if you sink to doing surface level analysis. The best part of mass imo is seating two mortal enemies together so when it's "time to give each other a sign of peace..." well, you get the picture. Oh, dear. I've gone and posted an entry longer than your blog. I need to stop doing this... *grr* //shadows
  8. *shakes head* Smoking is bad for you. Then again someone compared my coughing to a cat hacking up a furball... I seem to be getting better, no more doubled over wheezing like yesterday. We'd make quite a pair I second the Under Armor = A Very Good Thing comment. I feel sad for not knowing it existed until this year. Then again any kind of form fitting clothing on hot guys = awesomeness. And what's Mr. Captain done now? You can't just say that and let us wonder. //shadows
  9. Oh. Wow. I've taken Honors Chemistry, Biology and now Physics and I haven't heard of any of that (well, I know about solar winds vaguely from sci-fi) but baryon's and luxons? How did you learn this? And I wouldn't feel too bad about him not taking your answer immediately. He has a responsibility to the entire team, and it's better to get 5 points then no points. I'm sure as time goes on and you prove yourself to be the science expert there won't be a problem. P.S. Sorry about the hair cut, and don't you dare tell me you're already reading Faust, If you are, I want to transfer to your high school, it sounds so much more fun... //shadows
  10. Okay, I'll admit I'm getting a little weirded out by all the comments about Rory & Luke. They're relationship seems more like brothers (in how they act) then potential bf's. I'll be a little weirded out if they get together. Plus, can you imagine how Jase and Eddie would handle that? I'd rather see Rory with somebody entirely different, but it's too late in the story to really introduce somebody new. I'd go with Seth. Wow, this story really has a small case of characters. Luke, Rory, Jase, Eddie, Grandma, Aaron and Seth. (Kind of Dave). Easier to keep track of everyone than TOU //shadows
  11. You've spotted a gap, why not fill it? Nobody's stopping you from writing it. In every genre you'll have your archetypes and the "touching coming out story" is definitely one of them. Thankfully, Gayauthors seems to be lacking in this department. Dio writes sci-fi & fantasy and I'm not even sure if his main characters are gay yet. Their sex drives are incidental to their story, and imo that's better. A constant obsession with sex is unhealthy... or so I've been told. I think that's what annoys me so very very much about the gay "culture"/scene and we are therefore in complete agreement. Sex doesn't define who you are, your sex and attraction are nothing compared to who you are and what you do with your abilities. If you allow yourself to willingly be defined by the color of your skin, your geographic location, your monetary income, or your sexuality than I'm not interested in getting to know you. The people who break the mold are the interesting ones in this world. Note to self: Don't write forum messages at 2 AM //shadows
  12. Dom, you suck. I started my homework at 6 today and I'm not done yet (1 AM). You made me stop and read DD... Well, it was more interesting than the Tempest (which I read in its entirety tonight), Utopia (22 pages of it), and 2 solid hours worth of math homework and the end of UC Applications... Senior year sucks. I'm glad I don't have to read about Rory going to school otherwise I'd probably go starkers... Is anyone else here really interested in what's up with Sethe? Y'know, Rory isn't omniscient and I think he's really giving Sethe short shrift. I want to know Sethe's story and knowing Dom, I doubt he's just going to serve as the continual competitor for Aaron's affections. Anyone care to venture a guess? //shadows edit: No longer have 69 posts
  13. Oh, thank goodness. I thought you were going to say you'd found out it was me who stole the cookies from the cookie jar! Heh. If I were Dom, I'd all ready be sitting at your computer Ann. I get nervous if I can't use the computer for more than a day and for extended trips I either find an internet cafe or I start phantom typing. My friends have the wildest stories to tell from our trip to Belize... //shadows
  14. Sounds like a fun day. I used to decorate for Christmas... Then I realized the only one who ever saw my decorations were my parents so I stopped. Electronics are tricky, you have to let them know who's in control... That said, the sudden sparking of a 1000 lights all at once and the visits by fire departments is quite fun... Academic competitions? What exactly do you do for those? Do they test you on random trivia? Problem solving ability? We don't really have any at my school, but a local school is the Academic Decathalon Champion. It sounds like fun! Harry Potter, I want to see it really badly, but I have to wait until Wednesday when I can see it with a friend. Guess I'll have to suppress my moans if what you say is true. Lol, the music man. I was Winthrop once a long long time ago. I love singing "Iowa Stubborn" as I walk past my Junior English teacher. She's from Iowa and she gets all excited...
  15. Hmm. I'd probably skip it, cause personally, I find the "smut" sections of your story the least interesting. Probably because I have nothing to relate them to, or maybe because what I really want to continue reading the story... I mean, c'mon sex is sex... I'll second that James on Taylor. He may be my favorite of all of your characters including the protagonists. Thanks for getting out these DD Chapters so fast! //shadows

    My life is boring.

emo can be best defined in this song: http://emosong.ytmnd.com/ (listen, it's hilarious). and from what I can see slaveboy, you're nothing close to emo. For one, you seem like a pretty cool guy. For another, you have a good sense of humor. And a word of advice about making an asshole of yourself. I do it a lot. Most of the time you're the only one who notices. It's only a big deal if you keep drawing attention to it. Otherwise most people tend to forget about it. //shadows

    Virginity

I'm a slow learner. At age 17, I've done none of those things. I don't feel too badly about it though. It'll come eventually. Until then, it's one less thing to worry about. Though, having a first boyfriend or kiss would be nice... //shadows P.S. I don't count Truth or Dare...
  18. Mr. Savik, I just wrote a six paragraph long reply voicing why I thought you were wrong. When I looked at it, I realized I had ended up arguing your position. Though I doubt I'll ever read Lolita you have a point and I respect it. //shadows

    down with NyQuil!

Ah, poor Dom. Sorry to hear you're getting sick. Ignoring it is an interesting course of action. I personally go for the 5,000% calcium boosts. yum. calcium. Are you sure he's straight? Absolutely positive? Don't trust the straight ones. *sigh* Yeah... And don't pick on Rory. I rather identify with him, even if he is just a tad dense... hahaha. Seriously though, if I were in that situation, I'd be flipping out too. All of your protagonists seem to feel as if they've lost control over their lives, but I think Rory is the only one (well, maybe TLW) who is justified in his continual state of panic. Plus, he ends up in the most fun situations... So hmm, depends on whose knee he ends up on //shadows
  20. Thanks Dom. Glad to hear the new chapter's out. I hope you get a chance to enjoy yourself. Remember, be safe. I would love to have a fun weekend. Sadly, it seems everyone is plotting against me. My friend who was supposed to show up, hasn't and didn't even bother to send me a message. He's going to pay next time we talk... My teachers have decied that now is an excellent time to assign a massive workload. So, one research paper for english, one debate for civics and random junk for other classes, and SAT studying = not a fun weekend. And Sunday is my mom's b-day. I hope my dad doesn't screw it up this year. If he does it'll be the second year he's screwed up bother their anniversary and her b-day... I was going to play quake to relieve some agression but I realized that upgrading to ubuntu breezy has killed my nvidia drivers so... yeah. Still, I'm better off than a lot of people. I'll think of something fun! Anyway, I chomp at the bit at the chance to read the new chapter, sorry you had such a difficult time writing it. //shadows
  21. S/O or SO = significant other. Your relationship is too normal btw, noted
  22. eeeew. That's incest! Nasty nasty nasy nasty. (Should I finish reading DD?) On another note, it's been fun reading the comments trying to guess who's posting. I have a 100% pass rate on the most twisted comments coming from snowy And Dom, part of the reason I like your stories is I don't have to deal with irreplacable tragedy. If I wanted that I'd go do my english homework... //shadows edit: Doh! I just realized out of the current set of stories (TLW 2 included) who has to die. Damn. And I'd actually felt some affection towards them. damnit. anyone who gives one of dom's characters a kick in the pants I like... why must s/he die?!

  25. Yeah, honestly, I think we're being overly harsh to Mar. She was accused of being a lesbian and she didn't go into total meltdown like Quinn has going all self-destructive. The way we've seen trina act, I'm not so certain there wasn't something else going on between them... Quinn has been a total arse towards her. He's blown her off despite her repeated attempts to be downright friendly! He's ignored their relationship and she's still her trying her damndest to reconcile whatever has come between them. Right now, she's one of the best friends Quinn has. I mean read that last paragraph! She doesn't even bring up the fact she saw Quinn and Jude together until he practically forces her to. But even when she mentions that she saw him kissing a guy she still wants to talk. SHE WANTS TO TALK! She doesn't reject him out of hand. That's worth a brownie point in my book. Admittedly, she's no saint, and she has her flaws. But then so does pretty much everyone in this story. She's too obsessed with her social standing but every other character has a flaw be it emotional or physical and Quinn has enough to keep a grad student in psychology happy. Now that I've completed my defense of Mar, let's watch as Dom shows her to be an evil, conniving, manipulative, heartless witch. //shadows P.S. Sorry for the typos and or mixed-up names. I'm tired and the bashing of Mar has gone far enough. Somebody needs to stand up for her.
