(JACOB’S POINT OF VIEW) We sat there making sure all of our ducks are in a row for dealing with David. I started thinking to myself that I already have so many balls in the air! How am I going to handle another one? David is a close friend to me so I will find a way to do it. I was hurt when Beth thought we were going the wrong way with David. I got the feeling that she wanted to give up on him. Then she explained what she meant. She is hurting alongside David. After hearing what David went th

Dear Reader, I am about to open a new plot line in this chapter. I will stay true to the facts of the past when I am writing about past events. From the point of Dessert Shield on will be pure fiction. Time lines won’t coincide with the real events that happened on the ground. The battles and events won’t be true to the historic record of the war. As I unfold this part of the story, I need you, the reader, not to look at the time line and say that events didn’t happen or that is the wrong year

(ALEJANDRO’S POINT OF VIEW) At first I thought I was dreaming. Slowly I realized it wasn’t a dream, it is actually happening. I opened my eyes to see Matt hovering over me. He leaned in to kiss me as he played with my hard dick in my sweats. As we kissed I kicked off the sheets and pulled down my sweats. Before I couldn’t do anything else, Matt grabbed a hold of my dick and started jerking me off. I couldn’t help but moan into Matt’s mouth as we kissed. All of a sudden Matt broke the kiss. He

(TOM’S POINT OF VIEW) I heard a lot of yelling upstairs then it got quiet. Then all of a sudden the yelling started up again. I knew one of the voice going back and forth is David’s and the other one is Jake’s. The third could only be David’s father. I met the man once, and I don’t care to meet him again. Then all of a sudden I heard screaming and I knew the screams were David’s. I started to run upstairs as the screaming turned into crying. As I reached the top of the stair case, I saw Jake

Chapter 6 (MARTHA LOPEZ POINT OF VIEW) I really didn’t want to let Josh go to the hospital and see that kid. I don’t trust that kid with any of my sons, more so with Josh. Josh has a big heart that gets him into a lot of problems he has a hard time getting out of. I only wish he turned out more like Carlos and Daniel. I also really hope Brandon doesn’t turn out like Josh. More and more Brandon stays around Josh and I worry. The phone rang and I knew who it was. I walked into the den and answe

(ALEJANDRO’S POINT OF VIEW) When I walked into that visitor’s room and saw Jacob Hernandez sitting there. I couldn’t believe the guy I gave hell to for over a year was sitting there. Not only did he get my letter, he actually came down. Then we talked about things I never thought I would ever talk about to anyone. You know; my love life. Jacob understood everything I am going through. He not only listened but he advised me what to do. I have never felt this open with anyone in my life as I am

(JACOB’S POINT OF VIEW) I am sitting in the television room talking with the guys about my brother Jeremy. They want to know how he was and what to look forward to. I am telling them all the stories about my brother that I can remember. There were funny ones and, at times they were harsh reminders that I will have to be looking after my brother all the time. He wasn’t a person you could just bring in and let do what ever he wants. I need to be sure I can handle this by myself. I know I can’t d

Chapter 5 (JOSHUA’S POINT OF VIEW) I tried, once again, to talk with Chris but something came up. As I watched Chris walk out the locker room I could only think this thing that I keep trying to get with Chris may not come to light. Let me explain what I mean by that. I have tried several times to speak with Chris and there is always something there that stops or prevents it. Either I have to be somewhere, Chris has to be somewhere, someone is always there meaning no privacy, or simply there i

(MATHEW’S POINT OF VIEW) I know Alex wouldn’t be able to tell me what is going on so I decided not to even attempt to ask. I am glad to be here with him. No matter what has happened with him this morning, I just want Alex to be safe. While we ate no one asked Carlos or Alex what in the world is going on. As the morning wore on the rumors became clearer as to what caused the lock down this morning. We all know the other building is still locked down right now. As soon as we finished eating, we

As I was walking to my third period class, I had to take the stairs. My class is on the third floor. I was in such a good mood with what I just accomplished. It wasn’t for ROTC, but it was for myself. I showed myself that I could do what I promise if I set my mind to it. As I was walking up the staircase, two other students were walking down. They started talking to each other. I really didn’t pay it any mind until they yelled up to me. Here we go again with this crap. When will this ever end!

(ALEJANDRO’S POINT OF VIEW) I sit here on Matt’s bed, holding him, trying to reassure him that this is never going to happen too him anymore. I couldn’t help but think this is my fault. If you look at from the outside in, it is my fault. If I wasn’t in his room, if I wasn’t involved in a gang, if I wasn’t the leader of that gang, nothing would have happened to Matt. As Matt settled down, I couldn’t help myself. I love this guy and I know he loves me too. I know he didn’t mean to tell me I his

The next morning it was very quiet in the house when we got ready for school. Joey really didn’t say much and I didn’t really want to push him to. When we got downstairs, Chase and David were there eating breakfast. I always found this funny. We ate at the house for breakfast, but a couple hours later we ate again at school. I figure that is where the old saying goes into effect about us being growing kids. We just can eat you out of house and home. The morning classes were going fast. Joey se

(ALEJANDRO’S POINT OF VIEW) As I sit here at the head of the table, I really feel uncomfortable doing so. I don’t want to be here and I don’t want to lead this gang. I want to do my time and get the hell out of here. I know if they ever find out about my being gay, I am dead. My father would give the order himself to save face with the others. Diego doesn’t seem to understand where he now stands in the ranking. He wants to call the shots, but not take the blame when things go wrong. He is more

The next thing I knew or should say felt is Matt shaking me to get up. I had the hardest time getting to sleep last night. I kept waiting for the lights to come on every several hours for count like in County. But they never did. You could actually get a good night sleep in this place. Also I couldn’t stop thinking about Matt. Man this guy is hot. It actually took every ounce of my strength not to jump him through the night. I will never do that to anyone especially while being in here. It isn’

Zandra. There are four books in the Jacob serious. Book four, 'Shadow of My Father wasn't originally going to be in the Jacob saga, but as the story developed and they were in the same school and city at the same time it landed up sharing the same characters and plots. The first 30 or so chapter of this saga, 'Shadow of My Father' you can read without having to read the first three books. Pay attention to the writer's corners at the end of each chapter because there is where you will find out what other chapters in the nooks you will need to read in order not to get lost in this saga. I hope I was able to clear things up. If not let me know.

(CHRIS’S PONT OF VIEW) I sat there in the counselor’s office not believing the question that I was being asked! I heard my counselor several times asking me for my answer. I just kept thinking what I have gone through at my dad’s hands. Every waking moment since I could remember my father treated me like I was the incarnation of Satan himself walking this earth. As you all know my mom died giving birth to me. What you don’t know is that the doctors told her months before I was born that she wi

(MARTHA’S POINT OF VIEW) I couldn’t believe what Joshua did with Elizabeth. This isn’t my Josh and I need his father to speak with him about it. I didn’t even want to speak with Josh during dinner. If it was possible I would have sent him up to his room to eat. As soon as I finished the dishes, the phone started to ring. I went into the study and answered the call by the third ring. “Hello. Lopez’s residence, Martha speaking!” “Hello honey, how are you and the kids doing?” “We are doing wel

(JACOB’S POINT OF VIEW) When we woke up the next morning Joey and I had a serious talk about all what my grandfather spoke of last night. He was right. We have been spending way too much money lately, like there was no tomorrow. We need to stop spending like that and get back to common sense spending. By the end of our talk we agreed to either put the dividends we get back into investments or back into our saving accounts. Whatever we do with the money we are getting, we are only going to put

(JACOB’S POINT OF VIEW) I was sound asleep wrapped around Joey when I was woken up with a sharp pain going up and down my lower back. It was so strong it woke me up. I looked over at the clock and saw it barely midnight. I went for my pain pills and swallowed two of them. I thought it would take care of the pain. Boy was I wrong. The pain only got worse in my lower back and then it just jumped to my left side in front. I just got out of bed as slowly and quietly as I could. I didn’t want to w

(CHRIS’S POINT OF VIEW) When I woke up in the morning I was still sore. Still I knew I had to get into school today or questions will start to be asked. I got up, showered, dressed and headed out to school. As I was walking to front door as quiet as I could, I heard my dad in the kitchen slamming things around. I thought I made it to the door without my dad hearing me, but I was wrong on that. “Chris I want you to come straight home after school. Is that understood?” “Yes dad it is!” I walke

(JOSHUA POINT OF VIEW) As soon as I pass through the gates of my father’s house, it just gives me the creeps all over. Nothing is wrong with the house. It is known to some as the people’s house and to others the White House. This house back dates to our second president who ordered it built. The strange thing about the whole thing, this president didn’t believe in slavery, but the house was built largely on the labors of slaves. Through history, forty five families have lived in this house in

(SERGEANT HANEY’S POINT OF VIEW) When we arrived at Austin High School Joey and Jacob seemed to be at home there. They talked all the way to the school about the battalion. One thing they did say that made me feel good was it didn’t compare to our battalion though. When we got out of the truck after Joey found a parking spot, I felt weird. I don’t know how to explain this, but I just had a funny feeling in the pit of my stomach I can’t explain. As we crossed the street I kept my eyes open My
