George was tested ... and he proved himself. It's good that there is darkness, challenges. He needs them to grow. I just noticed that "men" means both humans and elves. Interesting. Too bad there's prejudice, but I think the quotation you wanted is from William Hazlitt, "Prejudice is the child of ignorance."

There's a lot to think about in this chapter ... and a lot to like. David and George complement one another very well ... the eager student and the willing teacher ... and lessons enough for all of us.

If we label (name) something, we think we understand it. Most things ... and all people ... are too complex to understand, so we label. It's not lazy ... it's how our minds work. When we mis- label, or label without attempting to understand, we may do harm. Labels change. Consider the evolution of terms used to label those now (mostly) called African-American. If we are aware of our tendency to label, we can look beyond the label, but it takes effort.

What do the random patterns of sound mean? Other than that, this is a satisfying, fulfilling, and comforting chapter.

Justin and Percy make an interesting couple, and an interesting balance to what else is going on. A fine chapter!

Drako is really uncomfortable, or playing "hard to get"? Harry seems to be taking things more calmly despite his professed ignorance of what's really happening. Who is Dawlish? Who will be the stronger, Harry or Drako? There's lots to be decided.

Read this last night and wanted to leave a reviw, but couldn't on iPad. This world is so real ... it's complex, but so well told it's easy to understand ... and get lost in it. I know Barrett from somewhere, though. It's good that he's found a friend and defender in Will.

Devoured the newest chapters last night. Wanted to leave a review, but couldn't on iPad. Great story. Felt as if I were there. Sometimes watching, sometimes engaged as a character. Draco's confusion, uncertainty, hesitation, and isolation make him not only likeable (okay, a little likeable) but also more real. He's a shallow stereotype in JKR; Myr makes him come alive.

An honor to be the first to review a great addition to this story. Too bad JKR never thought of some of these concepts ... This story is far more complex and moving than the original. -
Harry, Ron, and Colin can get into a lot of mischief! What a great combination. Lots of good background and expansion on the basic Potter story ... An entirely new dire tion.
