  1. I love C.P.E. Bach's music, and wish it was more widely played.

I've always imagined Rogue as a bit brash - to go with her name. Sometimes she makes decisions impulsively. She's a very emotion-driven character.

When the X-men were created in the 60s, the writers definitely had the civil rights movement in their minds - these were characters designed to make you feel sympathy for the plight of minorities. At first it was perhaps more about racial minorities, but the LGBTQ community quickly could latch on to the parallels of teenage manifestation of powers and teenage reckoning of sexuality and coming out. It is interesting to me that the X-men were my favourite superheroes, even long before I had any inkling that I wasn't straight. Thanks for your continued support.
  5. Thanks for reading - and in one sitting! I'm glad it's been worth it to keep reading all at once. I hope, as I slowly get through finishing this beast, that I can continue to please your readerly hunger.
  6. Thanks so much! (Sorry for being so late to reply!)
  7. A very late reply, but thanks for reading. I try to follow that advice myself, but I definitely fail at it. Oh well, with each dawn brings a new day.
  8. Sorry for the very, very late reply... but thank you for reading. It means a lot to me.
  9. I'm glad it had an effect. Thanks for reading! (Even though this reply is 3 years late!)
  10. Yeah, defense mechanisms are deeply ingrained into people.
  11. Caccini was at the forefront of a musical revolution - the creation of opera. He wrote lots of wonderful vocal music, such as this wonderful piece published in 1602.
  12. LIked your imagery here. 🙂
  13. Sorry I'm just getting around to responding to this 3 years later! OMG... anyway, although I was spanked as a child too, it had a lot of negative effects on me so I'm not in the camp of thinking it's okay. But it was something that worked here, with his character and with his inexperience and with his situation. I think it's fun to use DC as the fictional heroes of the Marvel world, if not a little tongue in cheek.

No, this is Pete Wisdom from Excalibur, the British superhero group.
  15. Love it!
  16. Mendelssohn wrote many such Songs without Words for piano solo, where the performer is expected to bring out the melody line with a beautiful cantabile tone over top of various styles of accompaniment. In the case of this piece, we have a Duetto with two melody lines trading back and forth. A simple joy to play.

We shall see. I think she is trying to have everyone's best interests at heart, even if she's doing a shit job of it.

Nothing wrong with that. She's an interesting character in the comics, but her role here isn't casting her in the finest light, is it?
  19. March 11, 2022 I feel like such a whiny bitch sometimes, complaining about things that shouldn’t matter. But goddamn it, I think this one matters. Kevin hasn’t been in my class for three days now. I understand that talking with Rogue about shit is important, since it gives him someone who can relate to his situation and who can give him advice and a reality check on his perspective, but fuck! How am I supposed to get him to keep up with his classmates? Can I just drop some evalua

It can be hard to let go of grudges agaisnt enemies of old. She's wrong about him, sure, but it's not unfounded.
  21. March 9, 2022 Rogue arrived this morning, unannounced. I have incredibly mixed feelings about her being around, to say the least. But given their similarities, my student Kevin Ford could potentially benefit from talking to her about her powers and her journey with them, and that is more important than any leftover grudge I hold over her role in breaking Bobby and I apart all those years ago. She received a warm welcome at lunch from many people on staff, my friends included.
  22. Definitely hard to keep a good tuning outdoors, especially if there is shifting humidity.
