I haven't given up on love but i have given up on looking for it. Most days I'm happy with that. I'm happy with how my life has turned out.
But somedays I'll read paragraphs like this:-
How had I forgotten this? How had I been satisfied with anything else? Guy...Mel...it was like choosing celluloid kisses over the real thing.
The real thing was raw and powerful and dangerous...but it was the real thing. Had I really believed I could make do with safe substitutes?
-Josh Lanyon (The Dark Tide)
And it sparks a longing in me. But I definately won't settle for anything less than the real thing.
i don't keep much in my pockets and I only keep essentials in my handbag (wallet, car keys, house keys, mobile phone)
I couldn't live without my car though. Its like a giant handbag on wheels. I have clothes, shoes, painkillers, books, notebooks, wool, stuff from work etc.
Which reminds me I really need to clean my car out.
I personally believe that plastic surgery should be only be done if it is a severe deformity or a medical condition.
Watching that news piece it seems that the child was self-concious about her ears because the mother is self-concious about it.
And if anyone came up to my child and said "Oh my God what happened to her ears", I'd be hard pressed not to punch them really hard in the nose!
"One day you will" by Lady Antellebum
I heard this song during the Queensland floods and its really stuck with me. Every time it comes on, when i'm in the car, I always pump up the volume and sing a long.
Hi, I would highly recommend the nightrunner series. I found the first book "Luck in the Shadows" in a secondhand book store many years ago and have loved the series ever since. I'm waiting impatiently for the sixth book which has just gone to her editor. You can follow her blog "Talk in the Shadows" at Live Journal.
Other authors I can recommend are:-
Josh Lanyon (Adrien English series)
Jordan Castillo Price (Psycop series)
