    I sometimes think that it would be nice to act on our passions without regard to how our heart or brain may contribute to the overload of stimuli...but that is what life is all about.     Kim, your poetic and very savory description of Lulu's Place brought a smile to a memory in which I had an exciting and romantic dinner many years ago. The sights, smells, sounds and ambience of the place reminded me of a small seafood retaurant on the Florida gulf coast...everything was perfect back then and your words took me there again!!! Anticipation on a date probably elevates all the sesnses, but I remember being so taken with everyhing,the scene for a couple to be romantically attracted to another is very important in the history of the couple....and you have captured that time for them!!!! Also, thanks for taking me back to Appalachicola..it will always be one of my most favorite places on earth Mike

    Being a parent doesn't end when the child reaches the legal age of adulthood. This story is so real and makes me smile at the ever changing way that adult children interact with each other and with parents who thought that being an empty nester would actually happen. In my case, BOTH son have returned home after failed marriages of their own.....as well as assorted grandchildren. So it seems that I'll never be an empty nester....and would never want to be. The way you show each child's connection with the parents is touching and in my opinion , quite accurate......Beautiful story...beautiful message...Family is everything

    This short story hits close to home...reminds me of times when I was a teenager questioning evrything in my life. I remember thinking that I would never survive school, friends, family ...but I did. People need to know how difficult life can be for a self doubting gay kid,,,,,just sayin'.................Mike

    I had never had the privelege of reading your stories prior to finding this one. Quickly, you had added fan as I devoured each chapter already posted...I have read ALL your stories and have added you to my notification list. Each story is filled with love and hope for the future, thank you for that..I find myself anxiously looking to see if something new has been posted...I also enjoy reading thoughts from other readers....seems like I'm not alone in my thoughts about you, your stories and the many "people" you've brought into our lives.....THANK YOU for this gift....Mike

    I love this story...it's so touching ,I often find myself tearing up while reading. I agree with the other reviewers that the only chance for John & Alex's survival would be a missed flight....it seems that this family has seen enough tragedy...however I am pleased to see that their faith and love is as strong as ever !!!
