So sorry for the very late review.
I would like to say that I'm loving both characters' developments right now, especially Kendall's. Just thinking through what you wrote, I saw his actions for the most part as concern for Michael his best friend rather than Michael the one and only love of his life... which gives significance to his newfound resolution in the previous chapter. I'm loving how when they arrived at Kendall's residence, they could crack jokes at each other in that way to express their close friendship despite the huge elephant in the building.
As for Michael's actions in the residence, I also think they were spot on. He had denied himself that hunger for years and I am in awe of his control.
Kendall's reaction to the kiss, what a stirring experience. I would like to say that I am impressed again with his resolve, in that situation let's just say that I would experience a minor brain malfunction leaving me stupefied for a decent amount of time. Forget the takeout, it'd be mental incapacitation! His thought process and his hesitation to get his heart broken combined with the conflict of emotions is well delineated. What a great chapter!
I don't mean to write an essay but when I was reading Michael's reaction when the doctor came in to check on him, I have to confess, I did yell out "Oh nooooo he didn't!!!" followed by "Oh thank god!" when finished with the sentence. You almost got me there, amnesia... pfft!
