  3. ta. i had to find something
  4. So, i seem to have inadvertently discovered the last taboo on the internet. Incest. now don't y'all look at me like i swore, it's not a dirty word. Honestly, I don't get the big deal. Sex between any two consenting adults is all well and good. the only problem with incest in the issue of DNA, so if the two people involved cannot have kids (ie, they're both men), why do people still get all uncomfortable and fidgety? It's even one of the tags listed under "sex" here at GA, but according to several members i've spoken to, no one here will read incest stories. I spent my teenage years friends with a pair of twins who were monogamous and committed - too each other, and eventually their boyfriend with whom they had the most beautiful and successful polyamourous relationship i have ever known of. I don't think any of us ever batted an eyelid. So can someone explain to a poor wolf who has no clue... what's the big taboo around incest? Seems like we've normalised every other taboo (ref the "success" of 50 shades of grey). why is this still a button to press on people?
  5. “Sorry?” I stared at Gareth, “You want me to come a date with you and do… what?” I hadn’t been on a date in years, not since the six month wrecking ball that had been me and Jeremy, up and down the entire time until we were dizzy and depressed. Jeremy had ended up in rehab on suicide watch and I had ended up drinking my way through two bottles of whiskey and getting my stomach pumped. At least I hadn’t jumped off a bridge. Since then, work had consumed everything. I had always loved working at
  6. and people will watch it for the same reason they read it. because her name is attached.... also, the BBC has put out a lot of awful crap lately.

    thanks nost.
  8. i love that these two guys have nothing better to do but make up weird handshakes that require kissing.
  9. the only thing that theory does is take the question of how does "life" happen (from chemicals) and move it further away. with our extensive fossil records i very much doubt that the tiny single celled organisms that gave way to all life got here on an asteroid in space.
  10. well after the general reception of The Casual Vacancy, it sort of looks like she's made her bed and now she's got to lie in it.
  11. The teacher in me resonates to this idea. i love activities with cards and "islands" around the room for different things. plus it reminds me of the panich jar we have at our Nano sessions. only this will contain much less swearing
  12. it's friday practically evening... does this mean there's no prompts this weekend?

but then you'd have the problem that if their parents were supportive, the situation wouldn't have evolved in the first place. If Father had been less mean, Brayden would have been able to tell him what was happening. If their mother was less soft, she wouldn't have married/stayed with such a mean man.Basically, if their parents were nice, the abuse wouldn't have continued and they probably wouldn't have had to run away.
  15. gosh that's a good lookin' list!
  16. glad you thought so. Bryce is the cutest!
  17. I told Cris I loved him pretty much the second i realised that i could not live without him. I second the opinions that what you write really sounds like you love him, and i think you might be over thinking this. as an empath i understand that i am very sensitive and reactive of others emotions, but i think you should just tell him how you feel, even if you don't use the four letter word. there are plenty of others.
  18. I am in the process of setting up the Nanowrimo young writer's program for my students as an after school program. I have no idea how many student's i'll get, but they'll be between the ages of 11 and 16, and i was hoping to be pointed in the direction of some helpful links suitable for that age group. all the useful tips on how to write i can find aren't really age appropriate, and i don't really want to get the English department involved. they tend to take over everything and i lot of the reason i'm doing this is because the kids tell me they HATE their English lessons - they are forced to dissect texts until there is no text left, and they hate all the rules and rigmarole of English lessons. This is an opportunity for them to see writing as something that can be just for fun. Any good ideas people?
  19. do you need some Southern Comfort?
  20. welcome. just you wait.
  21. but many things might come between a boy and his horse.
  22. thanks. Bryce is cute, and Caleb might just be the definition of nice and sensible.... sort of

September rolled around, and Reilly found the pattern of his day’s made easier by Brayden’s return to school. There was a month to go until the boy turned eighteen, but if it was possible, Reilly wanted to keep them here, in the town where they grew up, as long as possible. Brayden still had friends, kids his own age to hang around with and he still had growing up to do. Like you’re all grown up now at the grand old age of nineteen. Reilly growled at himself. Dragged off his hat and wiped the s

“I can’t believe that you can watch that shit.” Reilly reached over to grab the remote, but Brayden was quicker. The television stayed tuned into the reality life show. Reilly flopped onto the long sofa and stretched out, hooking his feet over the padded armrest. Lazily, he toed off his boots and flung his ball cap towards the hook on the wall. He missed, but didn’t get up to tidy up. “Seriously, why do you do it?” “It’s like staring at an unfolding car crash,” Brayden tucked his hair behind on
  25. Reilly Jackson is a good ole' cornbread Southern boy: boots, pickup and all. He loves Braydon more than anything in the world. But Braydon is the target of an abusive older man. How complex can their lives get? And can the boys find happiness where Family Pride is practically a religion, and being gay is reviled?
