    Chapter 4

Well, he's not in AA - there are other, more specific support groups. After all, Nathan's problems have very little to do with alcohol. Why is he still calling Taylora 'friend' - because he doesn't have another word for what they are. There's no way Nathan wants to ruin everything now and presume that Taylor wants to be his boyfriend. He'll just wait.

    Chapter 4

another new story goes up saturday too... gotta keep you busy! Animals know things, and they don't judge us. your horse, or your dog, doesn't care if your smart or dumb, pretty or plain, rich or poor - as long as you love them, they'll love you right back. Cayman is there for Nathan in a way no one else can be, because Nathan loves him without barriers or judgement or expectation. Your Sammy was the same. Thank you Lisa, I knew I'd get you to like Nathan!

    Chapter 4

Wow... I think I might cry just from reading your review. Thank you so much Gary! For me too, the important moment is the one with Cayman - only the stallion really knows Nathan for who he is, rather than who he has been shaped as. Underneath all that is a sweet boy who wants to ride his horse of into the sunset and lie for hours in the hayloft making out - he got lost under the macho, the anger, and the pressure of being who his father wants and everyone else expects - but we'll find him again.

    Country Girl

Aww, thankyou Lisa! I'll admit I found it tough sometimes, and more than once Kyle ended up being a guy for ten seconds while my brain switched to automatic - but it was great fun.Kyle for a girl was Ma's suggestion, and Banning came from a Firefly episode I watched just before I started writing. I think it's a lovely name. Thankyou again. Always hugs for you

Thank you so much. I am so glad that you got along with the girls. Don't worry, the pronouns were all wrong for me too. I won't judge. I am just thankful that the SashaForce compelled you to read.

  11. Nathan hopped up into the back of his truck, took the soda bottle and twisted the top off with a little hiss. It was quiet out by the creek, and cold, and Nathan doubted there would be anyone along to disturb him with his cream soda and thick sheepskin lined jacket. Soon enough, he had no doubt, there would be frost on the ground in the morning, and then there would be snow, and the continual mission to break the ice on the water troughs to keep all the horses happy and watered. Nathan was glad

  18. We (me and the husband) don't do V-day, but because it's commercial and trashy and an excuse to take the person you're with out to dinner, spend too much on bad food, and try and be the most in love of every couple in the restaurant. I know he loves me when he brings home cheeseburgers and does the washing up. He knows I love him when I make char siu bao from scratch and buy him mints (I hate mint). We don't V-day, i'd rather save my money and buy a house.
  19. I really like this idea. It might help to encourage readers into in-progress stories and it allows people to share and speculate. These are never bad things.
  20. Even I'm not sure if Sathriel has redeeming qualities... I mean, he is The Devil

If I outdo myself enough times will I come undone?I love that feeling, the rush, the inability to think about anything else for five minutes... ahh. I'm glad you enjoyed.

    Our Song

Levi is just sitting on the back of his truck in a cornfield, chatting with and being chatted up by a good looking guy when the song he's been thinking of all day comes on the radio. Music might be the food of love, but only country and western makes the stars spin around when you dance.
  24. People tell me I write beautiful things, wonderful things, adorable things. And I hope this is all true. But I also write awful things, painful things, terrible things. And these are true too. There tends to be a lot of discussions about what makes good writing, and so often I find myself coming back to that immortal phrase "Write what you know." I might not have grown up in the hayfields of Texas, or ridden in the rodeo, or fallen desperately in love with a beautiful girl in the back of a truck; but everything I write is true. I know that pain. Feeling your insides trying to rip themselves out from your ribcage. Being so full of anger and pain that it chokes you so you can't speak. I know the loss. Finding the bottom of your world falling out and leaving you groundless, sunken on the floor with your knees not working. I am right there with you through the amazing highs. When you're so dizzy with the joy and fierce fire of adoration that the world seems to made of nothing else. We were always told not to be mean, not to be cruel; but it doesn't matter if it's true. I commit character assassination on a daily basis. Those people I write who you love to hate, most of them are real, at least in part. All of them have done things, terrible things, and for their sins I will do as Chaucer did, and immortalise them in fiction. Every pimple and every character flaw. Naked for eternity. The things I write are true, some more than others, and so it is important to me that you know just how special each and every review it to me. I am just a kid, well, not so much a kid anymore, sending things out into the big wide world. And without those of you who write back, that would be all it is: just me and my laptop, sitting on the sofa, and writing. I have no tact, you should no that by now, and I am unashamedly proud of what I do. You don't get this many rep points and recognition without being proud of yourself. And we're always being told to be proud, aren't we? I have no tact; but thank you. Will all my broken adoration; THANK YOU.
  25. If you are, you're not the only one thinking that.
